Amazon Black Friday Deals. Still Not Shipped?

Ordered a large number of Christmas presents on Amazon on Black Friday. Some arrived within a day or two. Others shipped and arriving weeks later.

I still have 6 orders which haven't shipped. On one they changed the arrival date from 'arriving' 22 Dec to 'expected' 23 Jan. On the remaining 5 items it still shows 'arriving Thursday' (aka 22 Dec). Is this normal?

Either they have great faith in a last minute delivery or I am being strung along with a promised date that they have no intention of keeping. If I knew it wasn't going to arrive back 3 weeks ago then I could have cancelled the order and bought elsewhere.

Does anyone know how to contact Amazon about this. Couldn't find a phone number and the 'contact us' section would not allow a message until after the parcel is overdue.

Not after sympathy - after the contact details that a couple of helpful people have provided.

  • Something I ordered six weeks ago has been out of stock and Amazon just notified me it will ship this week. Good stuff.

    Try the following
At the bottom of AMAZON page select Help (its right down the bottom with other links)
The it asks what item you want help with, SELECT YOUR ITEM
You get more choices like WHERES MY STUFF
Again, you get more choices, So choose DELIVERY DATE WAS CHANGED
Now there should be a new choice I NEED MORE HELP
You can request A phone call
As long as your phone number is registered, they should ring you

Personally, when this has happened to me, they cancelled my order, (as they doubt the seller will ever ship it) and got the item from another seller or Amazon themselves and applied the Discount you had during the sale.

I had an overseas Amazon order arrive in Melbourne a week ago and picked up by Australia Post and it hasn't moved since then.

That all depends on your frame of reference. The sun and you and me, and all the stars that we can see, are moving at twelve million miles a day.

You didn't mention whether the items were sold, or at least fulfilled by amazon Australia.

At this time of year, having amazon prime well and truly pays for itself just in free expedited shipping. If you avoid the obvious things that force amazon to use other shipping methods, then their own delivery service tends to be rock solid - by way of example: my order for a bunch of random stuff from Friday morning half arrived this morning, the other half is out for delivery and will arrive today.

As a rule, if your order is time critical:

    • Avoid anything not fulfilled by amazon - you're at the mercy of whatever delivery service the marketplace seller selects. It will most definitely not be an amazon flex driver.
    • Skip sending it to a parcel locker, or any other aussie post facility. That forces your order down the standard mail path, so your order will sit in the logjam of orders trying to get into and then through australia post.
  • I'm pretty sure they are transporting bulk orders to the distribution centres and delivering locally from there. I've had the same problem? from perth too.

    • what do they normally do?
