Able to Get Voda 5G by Faking Address?

Hey all!

Can I fake an address to get 5G home internet from Vodafone?

Please tell me the experience of anyone who has experienced this and the potential pros and cons of this!

Thanks!

    But why?

Because I don’t have NBN and 4G broadband sucks.

      • I'm not sure why you think 4G sucks, but are convinced 5G wouldn't. Where I am, Voda is terrible, 0-1Mbps. Telstra and Optus are fine. None of them offer 5G at my address.

        • I agree with this. If you’re currently with voda and you’re expecting their 5G to be better than their 4G, if the coverage is already bad, the speeds won’t improve.

You’re better off switching to a different provider.

Where I am Optus is awful but voda is great. Some addresses are just black holes for certain providers.

if your address doesn't have 5G coverage, so you may not get to use the 5G service you are paying for it?

Seems like a legit business approach for them…. Lie to customers about availability to sell less of their own services

Business does this (lie) all the time. In this case Telcos don't want to saturate 5G networks with what they think is low quality reception areas and have to suffer from 1000s of customers complaining.

      • That just isn't the case sadly when I was on Vodafone I was often getting below 30 mbps on 5G.

Thanks for sharing! Wonder why 5G can exist everywhere (at least on a mobile phone)

Have you tried taking off the tin foil hat first?

What do you mean by this?

          • @SpeedHasNoLimits: He's being a smart arse !
Although I couldn't see the benefit of going for 5g when you know you're area isn't covered.A whole lot of hassle for what ?

      • Lol why not try iinet 5g, they will sell you even there is no reception 🤣

And ìnet is tpg, which merged with Vodafone.

        • Nope. "This product is not available at your address."

why not just go straight for their 6G service? 1000mb/s you have to call them to get it, they will deny it at first but keep pushing!

    • We are in the optus 5g circle, but on the map there is no coverage for our house, being near the fringe. My partner has Optus 5g on her phone and rarely gets it.

    Wtf 😂

  • LOL this must be a troll post.

  • Hey op, why not post this from your original account ?
Why make a ghost account to ask a question..

Careful, franco will call you out for being a troll because you looked at their lack of post history.

  • Likely they'll block you after a while, at least thats what Optus staff member told me when I tongue in cheek asked them the same question :p. I think they can tell based on cell tower you're using? But he said they do check so it doesn't take up all the availability for some areas that already do have 5G.

  • I get what they are saying. They probably have 5G coverage in their homes, but can't apply for a 5G broadband plan.

I get great speeds on 5G at my home, but can't access 5G broadband plans…

  • First solution to your problem is dont think voda will fix your lack of coverage problem. Cough up a bit more for optus or telstra to get proper coverage.

  • Yeah, you could, no problem.

Next post … Vodafone sent my 5G modem to the wrong address. What are my rights?

You cant go by any telcos coverage map they are often black spots.

  • Any other WISPs available?

Here in WA if NBN no good we have Node1 and Pentanet as options.
