Great price, why the Linear variant never gets this low is beyond me

    • +3

They don't have any problem selling the linear variant. Just this noisy one

      • +1

Yeah that'd be it, probably for the best, don't really need to pick up a spare since I am running the G915 anyway

      • i bought the clicky as a spare at this price….but would have gone for linear to keep noise level down ……if they do linear without clicks i’d get one as a main keyboard for work.

    • discount there's reason.

like PS5 no big discount so far cuz they dont need to lower the price

I would of bought a G815 or even a G915 but there are no lighting for the secondary functions like !@#$ etc. That's a deal breaker for me.

    • yeah i wasn't pleased about it at first but i've started memorising the secondary keys. for me it's still worth it, since i type so much faster on my g915

  • +2

Finally replacing my orion spectrum which has multiple keys not registering at all or registering twice or more on one key hit

Typing has been a nightmare for many months

    Thankyou OP

Jks, only 104 left, I already have the G915, but really tempted to get this as a secondary keyboard hnngggg

Have a corsair K70, how does this compare?

    • +1

I really like it, swapped from a K70 LUX Cherry Red keys, these keys are low profile so that might not be ideal for you. Also as mentioned the secondary symbols arent illuminated which definitely bothered me at the start but not that big of a deal anymore for me.

Overall I would 100% recommend it over the K70.

  • This keyboard doesn't illuminate the secondary symbols eg !@#$%^&*(). Also, they have proprietary keycaps which are expensive to replace. Oh, and the keycaps get shiny with use. Very good other than that.

  • When did these get so cheap? Kind of tempting, but I do want a linear one and should probably try clicky in a store before buying blind…

    • these have a rival in the razer deathstalker v2 now. hoping the wireless g915s should come down in price a bit as well

  • Damn I just bought this at black Friday sale for $20 more. Its a great keyboard despite the noise. It sounds sparkly or zappy which I enjoy, and the community made animation effects are amazing.

  • Damn. I had this in my cart last night before bed.

  • Just got the keyboard(super fast shipping!) but can't understand the hype.. Am I missing something or should i just return it and wait for other deals?
I am coming from a 2 year old 28$ kogan blue switches keyboard. The old one feels, sounds, and looks better (I did upgrade the keycaps though). This one feels and sounds like a laptop keyboard and not much like a mechanical keyboard. I love the sound and feel of the blue switches on my previous one.

Not everyone finds low-profile switches apealling, I don't really either due to the sheer variety of normal switches available. I guess most that come from membrane to this keyboard find it a big step up but those going from mechanical to mechanical such as yourself might find it underwhelming. My suggestion? Sell/give it away and get a hotswappable board lol

      • My old kogan board is hotswappable. I was just changing as I wanted to try something new and the deal/reviews for this one were really good. I guess I should have went with the akko deal. Can't return this one anw so I am stuck with it.

        • try to sell it if you can. you'll still lose some money but considering you got a pretty big discount on it, ymmv.

    • i went from a kogan blue switch to a g915 clicky/blue switch as well (which is the wireless version of this board). it's basically going from standard profile to low profile. i think it's very much an individual thing. i type faster and more accurately on the g915 and it's significantly quieter than the kogan but still loud for a clicky.

      • +1

Yea i noticed that i type faster too on it and it is much quieter but it defeats the whole purpose of getting a mechanical keyboard. I much prefer the typing experience on my blue switches kogan keyboard. Thie one feels like a slight upgrade from a 5$ lenovo keyboard i have as a backup. I dont care much about the 5-10 extra wpm and yea it is a subjective thing i guess.

What do you want from a new mechanical keyboard? If it is noise and more distinct click, maybe keyboards with Kailh Box Navy switches might be good for your taste.

Be warned that Box Navies are on the heavier side in terms of the weighting of the spring I believe.
