Last time I made jerky it was at super low temps. My current air fryer goes to 160C at its lowest.

If this has the same minimum, then it'd be no good for jerky (YMMV)

I got one from last year, looks exactly like this. Minimum temperature is 65C for air fryer. This has dehydrater build in, where minimum temperature is 30C.

    • 160C?? Sure it's not 160F? 160C is not low at all. Jerky recipes I've seen recommend 70-80C (80C is my Healthy Choices air fryer min, so I'll first try that).

this type is more versatile than the 'Philips' style pull out drawer types 👍

I had the drawer type air fryer previously but recently bought a similar one to this from Kogan (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-12l-smarterhome-digital-a…). I can say this style is much better for cooking and also easier to clean. I know a lot of people here hate the Kogan brand but I never had any issues with their appliances. But I understand you may have a different experience.

that's interesting, i would've thought the drawer-style would be easier since you just basically dump everything in and shake it around, rather than having to arrange everything on a tray/rack.

For chips the rotating mesh basket set works a lot better, the chips get fried evenly. You don't need to worry about tossing the basket halfway through cooking. The other thing I liked about this type is you can reheat a full medium sized pizza.

  • Kogan has a 23L one for $99, seems better than this one from Aldi.

I overheard a staff member at our local store in SE Melbourne saying that they flew out of the store first thing this morning, and there wasn't any stock left in the nearest stores either.
Obviously proving to be a very popular purchase in the run up to Christmas.

  • I noticed it says 3 years warranty, compare to other similiar models. Is that true…?

  • I am thinking to get this one or https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/738462.. does anyone have experience with both or either.
