Microsoft eBay Store Is Legit or a Third Party?

I purchased a Surface Headphones 2 from 'official' Microsoft store on eBay back in August. Last month it stopped working. I returned the headphones and still waiting for refund. They referred me to Microsoft website who referred me back to Microsoft AP and when I rang Microsoft Australia, they are not affiliated as they cannot see the item returned. I raised it with eBay and still waiting - frankly I think they are third party reseller as this email [email protected] was quoted in one of the responses on the status of the refund. They also quoted [email protected] who has responded that the item is not visible in their system. Why eBay is allowing this 'official' Microsoft store https://www.ebay.com.au/str/microsoftaustralia when Microsoft Australia does not know about them?

Lesson learned - not buy from them anymore

Did you get an RMA number before you send your headphones to them?

You bought through eBay, you returned through eBay, you should probably complain to eBay.

Don't overthink it, just escalate the case via eBay chat and they'll tighten the screws.

  • Did you end up getting that refund? How long did it take if so and what was the procedure?

I am in the same boat at the moment for a returned laptop. MS online don't know anything about the order / return, the eBay return window has closed of course but I have already returned the item (went to Quantium Solutions warehouse) and waiting for a refund for a month now. We have been going back and forth on eBay messages and they are trying to send me to a Payments portal which has no options available for me to use.
