I was looking for a USB Hub to use with Chromecast and found this.

I received it today and can confirm that it works with Chromecast with Google TV and I could attach an external mouse and keyboard to my Chromecast with it. Not sure about the quality but the reviews seem to be okay.

  • What do you mean it works with Chromecast? Do you connect chrome cast in the HDMI slot then access the content on your PC like it's a tv set?

    • +2

No, connect the USB-C end to Chromecast with Google TV and treat it like a mini computer when Ethernet, USBs, etc are plugged in.

    • +4

No Chromecast is connect via USB-C and relies on power pass through (and usually a higher output charger). Adds USB peripherals, Ethernet and storage via USB/card.

No, connected to the USB-C port of the Chromecast.

      Something like this

I also use this for my Chromecast with Google TV and it has worked well for a few weeks.

It does get pretty hot though so I'm a little bit worried how long it will last, but at this price point I'd say it is worth a buy!

    But can it play crisis?

  • Can anyone confirm if a webcam can be connected to the Chromecast with this one?

    • +1

Yup. I tried it today and it worked. I tested Google duo (meet?) and it worked

  • If you want to get rich, all you have to do is make a 9-in-1 USB-C Hub, I think.

10-in-1? Well, get ready to become a billionaire.

Not sure whether it will works with chromecast google TV though

    • The one that you linked could potentially be better (4K 60Hz vs 4K30Hz)

    • I grabbed this, thanks mate. It seems to have less complaints about overheating than the OP's one.

    • Does it support Chromecast?

  • +1

It does run pretty hot, but I've used it for 6+ months ever work days for my laptop and it still works

    • Can I ask what you’re using it for?

      • +1

My laptop doesn't have ethernet port so I'm using this one to use an ethernet cable
