Aldi (Bauhn) Indoor HD Digital Antenna

I'm talking about this here:

http://aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_22613.htm

My situation is as below:

There is 1 TV in a room without a TV point. Would I be able to use this to get all channels (inc digital) on that TV, or is this more of a signal amplifier?

    Try it and find out

  • I would also like to know. I have one of those USB TV tuner cards and the supplied antenna does nothing - no reception at all.

  • Its next to useless.
bought one, totally couldn't receive any channels at all.
Returned it and got a replacement, thinking the first was faulty.
2nd one was the same as the first.

But yea, you might have better luck than me.
go for it, Aldi's return policy is probably the best in Australia.

  • Mick,have you tried this antenna ?

  • I bought one, and didn't work for me either. Couldn't pick up anything. But their no questions return policy is the best! :D

    • I tried one a while back as well and unless the antenna was up against the window pointing in the correct direction it was useless. Even when it did work it wasnt much good.
Ended up dropping some cash for a decent external and extra points installed.

I am sure these things must be useful for someone or they wouldnt bother stocking them?

  • Discovered the best diy indoor antenna.
Get a balun http://av2pc.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=4065 screw 2 x 12-15 cm pieces of thin aluminium wire onto it and plug it directly into the set, do not use an extension. You might have to bend the wires to get optimum reception.
Had troubles with indoor antennas and tried this.. better than any retail gimmick I tried.
I use this on my sets that were connected to the ext antenna also… better pic and no lighting strike.

    • For HD Digital?
