Need Help Finding a Laptop - Budget $2,000

Hey everyone, first of all Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I thought this time (with all the sales going on) would be a perfect time. My budget is around ~$1.3k - $2k. Mainly going to be using it for business work, which is A LOT of browser work and a lot of things open at once.

Also going to be using it for Uni (cyber security) so would need decent specs in that aspect in order to run VMs, programming, and things along those lines. Mainly multiple things going on at once.

Need it to be Windows and screen size doesn't really matter, but one that is on the larger side (although not the largest) is nice! Not really interested in gaming but I guess that's an option too.

Would appreciate any help, looking for a good deal on some nice specs!

Does it need to gave good battery performance for the 1) business work and 2) uni work?

If not, then it opens up your options.

A potential product could be a 15” dell inspiron with 12th gen i7 and 16 gb ram

This might not be the best or cheapest for your use case

    • No, it doesn't. I'll always have access to power outlets :) But being able to take it off power for maybe an hour or two would be nice

That one seems good! I think I saw a lot of laptops with similar specs to this (same processor etc), this one's on the cheaper side

Check Dell Outlet out. Refurbished by Dell and pretty much like brand new.

    • Nice find! Definitely going to check it out.

Anyone have any idae of what specs I should be looking at for a minimum/recommended?

Latest i7, 16GB RAM, 32GB better considering lots of things open and VMs as you mentioned, 512GB min or 1TB SSD.
Just had a quick look at the outlet and Latitude 15 (7530), i7-1270P, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD is a few hundred over your budget.
