  I would suggest AirBnB, you might need to stay in the suburbs because of the tennis.
  There are also currently AirBnB gift cards on sales… But that adds another level of risk of not being able to use it if you don't book through Airbnb.

  I'm all for helping a brother out but put a bit more effort in to show you're also willing to do some work. Budget? Must haves? Location in Melbourne or you happy to stay in Dandenong, sunbury or even further? Willing to move part way to save $? Do you need parking, near public transport etc or just happy to share a hostel room?

  “Rent a room” sounds like you just want a place in a share house. Try the Fairy Floss Real Estate group on Facebook, there’s a bunch of rooms on there.

  I think this is the new norm for housing, I need to rent a room for 2 weeks, 26 times a year.
