Any Uses for Old Sim Cards?

Hi all,

A couple of years ago I saw that Kogan listed free sim cards for free so being the brat I was I ordered a few hundred out of curiosity to see if they would cancel them or not

It turned out they had all arrived. I did occasionally use one or two to redeem the offers.

So now I have a bunch of kogan sims left that can't be activated anymore.

Anything I can do with them before I throw them away?

Melt them down to extract the gold.

    • Wonder how many cents one could make

        According to this formula

        a(B)=a(a) + $Xr(B/A) + %X%Xr(B/A)] + 2%X(v(B/A)+a(B/A)

        About 37 cents all up

    • Maybe ask Kogan to replace them

If not, then ask for a REFUND!

How to get a refund for a free thing?

        • LOL. Exactly!

          They cost OP absolutely nothing.
Not even postage at that time

Put them in a pile on the floor and take a photo

I thought I already did on the post but here it is.

Only just less than half of the whole pile though as opening envelopes is time-consuming

    • Are the sim cards pearl colour?

Your picture shows that they are all from the old batch. I threw all of mine out in early 2020. The new batch features a new package. I just activated one bought in August 2020 a few weeks ago .

You could swallow them one by one and then count to see how many of them make out the other way

MobileMuster has a whole host of drop-off sites, including all Officeworks stores. The recycling bins are usually located at the front of the store, with different bins for different types of e-waste – just pop your sims into the appropriate one.

  • …I ordered a few hundred out of curiosity

    Geez.. just because it's free!
But then again… it's Kogan, so who cares. Keep ordering!

  • Sell them to the United Petrol Station Group as they are supposed to stock them but never have any when you try 12 on a Sunday morning!

    • They can not be used again. I think the reason behind is Vodafone wants to reissue the numbers that have not been used for years. Each package has reserved a Vodafone(Kogan) number that is shown on it.

Tile a wall with them. Get some other varieties to create a mosaic.

  • Ear rings.
