While this is for a phone and not a camera mount, it's great for $8 https://www.kmart.com.au/product/smartphone-flexi-tripod-427…

want some fries with that salt

    • Thank you

I will grab this for my trip to Europe, could come in handy for some photos.

      • Doing the same for our trip to Europe! :). It works great with the Pixel 7, especially night time ones.

You can mount a camera to it if you unscrew phone mount at the top.
Though the thread is plastic you might break it if your camera is heavy.
Actually even with phones I have fear of the plastic thread breaking, maybe i am just paranoid, it might be stronger than that I think.
I agreed good price and works great otherwise.

      • Haha, you can too. I actually unscrewed it the other night, and didn’t even realise!
Plastic ball won’t break with weight, but wouldn’t trust the legs with 1kg+.

I have been using 3K gorilla pod with heavy DSLRs and phones (with additional phone holder) and its is still working perfectly after 6 years. Highly recommend as a one size fits all if you have DSLR.

  • Anyone else have the rubber bits on these go funny (kinda starts shedding bits if you run your fingers over it and kinda goes a bit oily)?
I had the same problem with my dual shock 3 controllers..

I have no experience with this tripod but what you’re referring to is called rubber reversion - the breakdown in the structure of the stuff used in the manufacture of the rubber itself.

      • Thank you! Knew there would be some kind of proper name for it… looks like fixes are temp at best :( spewing as I paid closer to $110 for mine back in the day and probably used it 4-5 times in all those years.

  • These are freaking awesome!!! I use one and there is a phone adaptor too which I have.
    Highly recommend.

  • This one doesn't have an Arca Swiss mount?

    • The 5k version comes with an Arca Swiss mount however this one does not. You can also buy the 5k head separately and mount it to these legs I believe.

  • 1k kit is $10 less. possibly put towards phone holder

      What’s the difference?

Edit: the weight it can hold. Thanks

These are great if you find yourself needing to latch onto things.
If you use a table, wall or other flat surface, grab a tabletop tripod like a manfrotto Pixi or 209

Beware, this is a plastic version and not sure where they got RRP from.
Alloy version (3K Pro) will last much longer and DigiDirect currently has it for $134.25

  • After seeing reviews with photos

    Meh

Checking the Camelcamelcamel link, it'll probably be around this price pretty often

  • Fo u need an adaptor for smartphones with this?

Note that the "WAS $148" is a bit disingenuous and doesn't reflect it's normal selling price ,

the highest price it's been at amazon in the last 3 months is $72

  • cashback 7% further off
is this through cashrewards or SB?

  • $79 is the normal price at DigiDirect, currently 25% off, Amazon is price matching $59.25.

Also, other than colour, the 3K is technically the same at the previous Gorillapod SLR Zoom, which would be cheaper if you can find them.

  • Can confirm. Had this and would highly recommend but as others have said this won't do the job for DSLRs. (Though the bigger Joby's are still great for that if you buy according to weight.

  • Not sure about the normal price but I paid $51 for it from Amazon in June 2022

  • +1

If you like brands like gorilla cables I guess.

Otherwise there are cheaper and stronger one.
