Jetstar - Is It Possible to Change Credit Card after Payment Already Made?

I have booked a flight with Jetstar to overseas with my credit card and already completed the payment. My flight is not due till coming April.

When I made the booking, I was using a credit card without travel insurance. I was wondering whether it is possible to change to a different credit card that has travel insurance?

Obviously I don't want to re-book the whole flight.

Even if there might be some fees, would it still be better than buying travel insurance on it's own. (Yes, I understand if you buy stand alone travel insurance they offer extra protection etc..)

Anyone know whether this is possible?

What you're suggesting isn't going to happen. You're asking them to refund you and then re-charge another card.

You should go and read the PDS on your credit card insurance and understand what it takes to activate the travel insurance cover. Some don't require the entire flight and may only require a small portion of your trip to be charged to the card, like hotel or something else.

  • No, you can't change credit card after purchase.

It would have to be a new ticket and then refund (if fare rules permit) the current one.

You could book the accommodation on the travel insurance card and still be covered.

  • its jetstar, you'll be lucky if you get a flight.

tbh i'd be paying more for non CC insurance.

  • Thank you All!
