These are Tuya based. Also not sure if it’s a sale but the one with usb ports is $19.75 online.

I recently found these, price is in USD, but arrived in 3 days, ESP based and come with Tasmota out of the box.

    • Good alt find!
Aside from local control over wifi & no cloud trauma, why do I need tasmota devices over Tuya?

If you use homeassistant (or openhab or others) then these are much easier to integrate.
Also no cloud servers ;) all data stays local.

I am a HA user, maybe I’ll have to give it a go whenever the Aussie dollar decides to be less crapo..
The 2 pack from Sydney is currently ~$50 inc shipping

    • I love these. I have a bunch around the house. Washing machine, dishwasher, dryer all do power monitoring and with homeassistant I can alert when they're finished. Then the kitchen hot water tank is on a schedule (completely off when we're away from home). One on an OG Pixel XL that I use as a Google Photos proxy to maintain battery charge between 50 and 60. Another on a laptop power supply and linked with an IKEA ZigBee remote to turn on and off. Another with a heat lamp for our python which is automated with NodeRed and a thermometer.

      • I am planning on going HA soon and use my always on PC for it. Any recommendations on the USB stick for zigbee stuff?

Lol planning to expand on my single Grid power plug I have had for years.

        • Not really, sorry. I bought my Conbee II dongle ages ago and use it with Phoscon integration, but that's not the recommended approach anymore.

Is your always on PC Windows?

I use/recommend the SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus which works very well for anything I have thrown at it so far.

  • Can we switch on and off even when you’re away from home. I mean using mobile internet.

    • Yes, and monitor the energy draw (if it's like the rest).

  • At Kmart Macquarie these were full price $25
So I just got the Eko one for $15.95 from bigw.
Both can be used with the tuya smart life app anyway
