Searching for a Decent Diving Torch

Hi all,
I currently own an olight perun 2 torch.

I went diving with a mate who had an olight warrior 3 which was way better.
However this costs $200 and olight have their own proprietary batteries which irks me.

I am looking for a decent waterproof diving torch (1.5-2m) deep for night fishing.
Ideally powered by 18650s.
Budget: can go up to 200 but obviously cheaper is better.

A friend suggested this one but not sure how good it is. https://jettydive.com.au/product/hyperion-fl1000-dive-light/

I have seen the Sofirn sd05 but again not sure how good it is considering its "only" 50 bucks

Thanks in advance

I have several sd05s for scuba diving.

I'd recommend them, with the caveat that I did have one flood soon after purchase which Amazon replaced.

Long-term I'd worry about the magnet under the rotating ring corroding.
Soaking well in freshwater after use hopefully will extend life.

A $50 torch is a big plus - given the chances of a torch being lost before/during/after diving

  • The wife and I use the Oceanic Sabre R2. 1200lm and 18650 battery, runs about 90min at full. We bought them from our local dive shop, but seems on special at Frog Dive - https://www.frogdive.com.au/products/ocean-pro-sub-sabre-r2-…
