Shit that's cheeky, doubt OW realise it's Marketplace and not Bunnings proper.

    • +6

When did Bunnings turn into a marketplace?

      • +5

They have their marketplace with 3’rd party sellers since 2020

      • Same time as myer.

    • Welp, was driving past an OW today so figured I'd shoot my shot.

First problem was wondering if they had any stock, so I suggested we dig through the basket they had - surprisingly they had 3 when online stock check said 2 and in store check said 0.

Then they actually had an issue wondering if it was a different product, but then they realised the labelling on the product matched.

Snagged a 3% cashback Everyone GC from Shopback, so end payment was $225.77 for me. Winning, slightly better than the last time I snagged one of these and I had the 10% off everyone gc and unfortunately not as competitive a price beat.

I'm still amazed at how 1TB is packed into something the size of a finger nail.

      • +1

        How big are yours?

        • -4

A little bigger than a micro sd. My little finger nail looks like it might be able the size of a micro sd, makes me sick looking at it.

          • @AustriaBargain: My thumb nails are about the size of a micro SD, maybe even a touch smaller. How disgusted are you?

    • Someone always copy/pastes this comment when there's a post for 1TB micro SD cards

  • Is it good for Nintendo switch?

    • +3

Sure. Speed doesn't really matter for Switch so this is fine

    • Yes, I am using this in my switch right now. I have been using a SanDisk Ultra 200GB in my switch for the past 4+ years. I just wanted to upgrade my capacity.

    • Use one in my OLED and another in the Lite. Excellent.

    • This SD card is faster than the switch can read/write at. So it will be perfectly fine

  • +1

Just did a price beat, the lady actually went to Veloreo website itself and found a cheaper price of $35 for the 256GB SanDisk Extreme (not Pro).

Could not post a deal cos Veloreo is a banned store…

    • poor lady she should realised this veloreo is just like OREO, full of chocolate (just incase children reading this)

  • +2

I bought one from Catch.com.au It is taking a long time. I feel like this Veloreo is dropshipping from China. I doubt the quality, will wait and see.

    • +2

catch is good pre-ebay amazon etc, when the name still catch of the day
after that, its just like kogan.
      rubbish and rubbish. and? rubbish

    • +1

I'm stuck with this at the moment as well - ordered on the 19th - they didn't give me an update for tracking but promised it would be here this week.

I'm a bit annoyed at myself only to find out that Veloreo is banned on ozbargain (I guess for a reason) after I ordered it.

  • OP username will be hated by Slava Ukkies…

    • +2

I am getting that veloreo is banned when posting Ng this deal, so not sure how legit this offer is.

    • I bought this card also from Catch about 2 weeks ago and paid about $4 more.

      • Did they actually ship it to you and do you have it on hand right now? Im looking at reviews people keep saying they don't have what they ordered.

        • +1

I got it postage to me place.

    • +2

      Thank U.
Price mached with Officeworks for $138.
      Score!

  • +2

Officeworks have previously refused to price match SD Cards claiming that many competitors are selling fakes.
I gave up at that point.

    • +1

The cashier was hesitant to sell it to me as the price difference was so significant, but because it was on bunning's website, they found it hard to refuse the sale. I was hoping that Officeworks would change the price in their store.

      • +1

It's on the marketplace side, so may not be available in store.

    • Yeah I can kinda understand that, they might permit big places like JB and HN. I did manage to price match a known PC parts store, but I also am in a country town… probably less pushy here.

  • I'll wait patiently for this to drop to sub $120.

  • +1

For anyone after 512gb Extreme this is good value (with a discount ATM too)
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/333904367227

    $78 before discount. I got $10 targeted else it's 5% off

    • +2

Same store has 1tb ultra from OP for $150 (before discounts/offers)
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334644056300

      • +4

Stay away from these guys. Gave me an untrackable tracking number. Said Auspost would update it (my foot). I'm waiting for tomorrow and then I'm going to open an item undelivered claim on ebay.

        • They gave me an "untrackable" number, but the since the item has been 'sent',
I feel obliged to wait and see if it arrives.

Moreover, the seller sends private messages to straight away say:
          - package ETA is 5-7 business days
          - if order is -not- received, -NOT- to log an 'item not received' case

I feel like they know this happens, and they're trying to jump ahead to control the story/reaction.

          • +1

@whyisave: Nah forget them. I'm filing a not received case the first chance i get.

          • @whyisave: Just proves how unreliable AustPost is

            • @tequilatime: actually, a couple of days after my comment,
that tracking number showed up and I can see the item being shipped from Melbourne.

              • @whyisave: i purchased from thetechguysAU, didnt arrive, didnt reply, dropped a bad feedback and trying to claim back through paypal claim now

                • @Craibryc23: I received my 1TB after a week, however i did not open the packaging yet and test the MicroSD card yet !

I put it aside and forgot about jt.

                  I'll test it today then.

                • @Craibryc23: So, after about a month of sitting on my desk,
I just tested my 1TB MicroSD from 'TheTechGuysAU',
and so far it's a legitimate 1TB card.

    • This or the samsung 512mb pro? Pro is rated at 130mb/s

      • +4

For sure the Pro. The Samsung is 1 heck of a card. I'd get it, but they don't have a 1tb version.

      • from here

Samsung Pro Plus > Samsung Pro = Sandisk Extreme Pro > Sandisk Extreme Plus > Sandisk Extreme

  • random one but has anyone ever thought of running a nas using these little guys?

    • +4

Take a lot of them on fire to get the turbine spinning but sure - anything is possible.
      Cardboard packaging would help.

    • Why?

    • Yo, yes, I looked into this a few months ago thinking it would be great, but the economics of it doesn't work out. You can get a HDD for way cheaper. On one hand the microSD will definitely be a lot more reliable for data storage than a HDD (mechanical failures and what not) but on the other hand there's better small form factor storage that will give you more bang for your buck. For example, you can get a cheap Samsung 1tb nvme for around $145 and that'll have oodles faster performance, reliability and write lifespan than this microSD

      • how do you plug the nvme into your router?

    • I have a microSD plugged into my router via a USB adaptor, that I use to store media, if that's what you mean.

  • +8

Stay away from Veloreo, I bought SD card on 9th Dec, I didn't receive anything, no reply for the emails, had to get back money through Paypal

  • +2

Thanks, price beat bunnings (veloreo) at Officeworks for a 1TB Extreme Pro for the steam deck. It has to be Bunnings site - I tried price matching Veloreo directly before, can't be done - Officeworks claim the part number on the Veloreo site is not the same as theirs. On Bunnings they probably have to match it.

  • +1

FYI if any of you are using it for a Nintendo switch get this one SanDisk Extreme Action Micro SD Card 1TB has a decent speed for the switch and decent price.

for the Raspberry pi you could just go cheap one i guess.

    • yep just grab cheap 32gb ones for Raspberry Pi, more than good enough.

      • -1

never used retropi I see. or else you wouldn't say this. lol I have a 1TB one with over 1tb worth of game systems and roms.

        • Haha yeah I’m gonna do all the retro gaming on the steam deck!

        • never emulated anything above PSX/PSP/PS2 I see, or else you wouldn't say this. lol I have over 10TBs of PS3 roms and even that is not enough

          • @blueastro: yeah even though it's technically possible I am pretty sure retropi doesn't suppose ps2

ps3……. yeah pi 4 even with 8gb of ram isn't that powerful to run ps3 games lol.

        • Do u have a 1tb image to share? 0.o

    • It's been quite a bit cheaper in the past 2 months, if anyone who wants to purchase one can wait.

Edit: Actually as per below comment catch.com.au has it for cheaper, so you can try to price match it at OW.

    • The ultra is overkill for the Switch as its SD card reader only runs at about 104MB/s. So the Extreme would be a total waste of money

      Source: https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-the-best-micro-sd-c…

  • Needed something for my steam deck! Thanks!

    • Tempting!
But I just bought an A2 512GB sd card two weeks ago for my Steam Deck

    • How are you guys getting steam decks?

  • +1

Wow 1tb on a micro sd. I remember buying 20gb hard drive for $220 at swap meet.

    • I remember playing The Three Stooges on Amiga and having to swap disks because it was too big to fit on one. It was about 1mb total.

  • +2

Thanks OP for drawing my attention to the pricing.

Was after the Extreme for my Steam Deck, saw that Catch.com.au had it for $168.50 through their marketplace (Veloreo again).

Called up Officeworks, first person was reluctant due to differing product no's and would only match Amazon at $235, tried again with a second person who matched it and it came down to $160.07 delivered :)

    • Good one! I'd get an Extreme pro, but that's just me.

    • +1

Thanks also managed to PM Catch

  • +1

BROOO Finally 1tb microsd card only for people to say this store is bad and is banned for a reason. ill cry with my wallet. 😭

Anyone know why they're actually banned? All I could find is "Not enough information about seller" that was it.

  • Personally not a huge fan of big expensive Memory Cards, if they go bad then you lose more money rather than buying smaller ones

    • Depends on your use case.

Internally with a Switch there's no negative.

      With cameras, different story.

    • +1

Had a genuine Sandisk die on me once on a holiday in Rome. It was painful, but that was 10+ years ago, and I have bought dozens since then and not had one fail. IMHO, if you get genuine ones, its pretty rare these days that they die in normal use (DSLR cameras anyway).

  • Dammit I literally just bought a 512gb Samsung one from the other deal.

  • Click and collect ready to pick up from Officeworks, thanks!

    • Is it possible to get a price match with click and collect?

      • Yeah, you have to do it over the phone though.

  • Thanks OP, great find. Was looking for a SD card on a good discount for my drone. Nice and easy price beat by Officeworks.

  • Thanks OP. Went to OW twice and got lucky second time price matched.

    • BTW, I just copied 100GB data and starting processing some video and image files. a lot got corrupted. Any idea? I thought OW supposed to sell legit cards? Now running the whole day h2testw very nervously…

      • Any updates? Is the sd card faulty?

        • +1

Test finished all good. Speed started with 35MBPS dropped to 10/11 later but as expected. Ran the vigorous chkdsk no errors came up. Kept the old files backed up just in case anything goes wrong in a month or so. Fingers crossed

  • whelp I bought one even though I just bought the samsung 512GB recently but needed 1TB lets see if this is the real deal.

  • So is Veloreo dodgy? Catch have the Extreme for $162.80 sold by them

    https://www.catch.com.au/product/sandisk-extreme-micro-sd-1t…

Maybe I should wander down to the local Officeworks and try my luck.

Dunno if they will go less than half price though. It's $349 there!

Edit: No stock at Officeworks around here. Bit the bullet and ordered from Catch. I used PayPal so should be able to make a claim if any issues, such as it not turning up or turning up and being fake :)

    • DUDE Lmao same. They said it shipped recently and sent with TRACKING. When I click on the email with tracking it ends up getting ERROR 404 even if Im logged into my account. So far its already a red flag.

      • Hmmm, yeah. I'm expecting issues lol. Good price if it turns out ok though :)

I probably should have tried finding stock in Officeworks and trying the price beat

      • Did it ever show up?

        • Yes it has! Just before the weekend hit actually so it took exactly a week. So far I only have media on it for my s8 ultra. I got 300GB left but I will try to fill it to see if its real.

          • @iLikeSales: Nice! What are the speeds like? If you've put 700GB on there I'd say it's real :)

Mine was shipped 6 days ago apparently, so maybe I'll get it this week!

            • @chromium: Not sure if its my adapter but this 1TB mSD caps about 35mb/s? I have a samsung pro 512GB that caps around 70 to 90mb/s. I left it transferring while I gamed on the side.

edit1: I have about 500mb left on the 1TB mSD now lets see if it holds heh.

              • +1

@iLikeSales: Mine just showed up! So took around 10 days

It seems legit, I haven't filled it with data yet, but did some speed tests with Crystal and compared to my 160MB/sec version and the speeds are pretty much the same, which is around 95MB/sec read and 88MB/sec write lol. I think that is pretty normal with these cards though.

Fake cards are usually slow AF :)

So yeah, pretty happy so far, so much cheaper than anywhere else!

    • +1

      https://ow.c0r3.xyz/result.php?product=sdsqxav1tb&state=ALL&…

These are the stores that allegedly have stock. I wouldn't trust the 1s, but the one near me said "2" for the Extreme Pro and actually had 3.

If they scan the little card from their shelf and it says 0, ask if you guys can dig through the basket (it's in the shelves behind the front counter) together cos maybe it's there.

  • Failed at OW Melbourne, they claim no stock left in Vic.

    • i bought from thetechguysAu. they did not send it, and always give dodgy tracking and eventually didnt reply to message. look at their bad feedback, do not purchase from thetechguysAU.
