Glifewatches - All Orders Ship Free of Charge, or No? (Website is showing promo banner which hid the normal banner)

Not trying to throw shade on the store, just wanted to see if any sleuths could find the fine print.
They are an authorized Casio dealer according to Casio and have a decently good reputation.

I wanted to order a watch and they had the cheapest local price going. I was only going to order if after applying code the price was $5X.
After 10% code applied indeed to price was $5X so I went to the next step to calculate shipping which added standard shipping and pushed the price over $60.
There is no option for "free shipping". Only standard and express.
It's not about the shipping cost, rather that shipping isn't free when it claimed to be.

I read here before even adding to cart, under Delivery it says "All orders are dispatched via Australia Post eParcel service Free of charge."
https://glifewatches.com.au/pages/customer-service

So why is it charging me extra for standard shipping? Is it because I used the 10% code? I cannot find anywhere on the website where it says shipping costs will be added, or free shipping only with minimum spend.
Not in the website banner (which says Free Express shipping on over $75 orders) or here: https://glifewatches.com.au/pages/customer-service and not here either https://glifewatches.com.au/policies/terms-of-service

So has anyone purchased from here? Can you direct me to the info that says "No free shipping under $ orders". I can only find info that says otherwise.
Being similar to other shopify type websites. I created an account, added an address and tried again (I succeeded with this method before). Still charges for shipping.
What am I missing here?

  • I read here before even adding to cart, under Delivery it says "All orders are dispatched via Australia Post eParcel service Free of charge."

Maybe that's just an old part of the page?

Can you find anything else on the site that even says free shipping? I can't see anything prominent

The code makes no difference to shipping, it charges for it regardless (though for a pretty reasonable $4 here)

    • I have clicked through almost every part of the website now lol. I cannot find anywhere saying otherwise, such as "shipping costs will be calculated in checkout".

My thoughts were if the new years sale banner text "Free express shipping for orders over $75" wasn't there, that's where it would say it (either Free shipping on orders over $X, or Free shipping Australia wide).

    • I found something though.

I searched for "shipping" instead of "delivery" on the T&C's page and found this.

"Occasionally there may be information on our site or in the Service that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions that may relate to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, offers, product shipping charges, transit times and availability."

      I think "Omissions" covers it.

  • Looks like something is broken in their site, if you look at the page source of this page - https://glifewatches.com.au/collections/casio-vintage - you can see there is the line "G Life Watches has a wide range of stylish Casio Vintage Watches online. Free delivery Australia-wide orders over $59. Place your order today!" in the code.

Maybe ask them about it, but it sounds like it's free delivery over $59, which you're just short on.

    • "Maybe ask them about it, but it sounds like it's free delivery over $59, which you're just short on."

Thanks that's probably it. My order was a hair under $59 after applying the code.

I am guessing you are looking at the html of the website, didn't know how to do that so thanks.

I'm thinking it's meant to say that in the banner, which is now promoting Free express shipping on orders over $75.

      • Yup, you're spot on, if you look at the wayback machine from October it clearly states it - https://web.archive.org/web/20221029074853/https://glifewatc… - I guess they also need to update their page that says free shipping on all orders (maybe they never used to sell anything under $59).

        • "if you look at the wayback machine from October it clearly states it "

Welp mystery solved then. Thanks a tonne.

"(maybe they never used to sell anything under $59)."

Yeah plenty of budget Casio's are around that price or less though. Maybe they just didn't account for the price reduction from the 10% off New years code.
And before then they made sure all their watches were priced over $59 so it would never be a problem.
Well going by that conclusion you could assume that at least they didn't jack the prices.

Since it's just a website technical issue I might just go ahead and cough up the shipping and order even if it cancels out over 60% of the discount from the 10% code.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: Cheapest item is $6 so it's not even worth bothering trying to get it over the $59

            • @spackbace: Yeah I am just on the line which sucks. Wish there was like a 50c nothing item I could add to cart in units like on some Aliexpress shops.

  • So has anyone purchased from here?

I last ordered from them back in 2021. The order was well over $59 dollars and I didn't get charged for shipping (just double-checked my old invoice).

They're an excellent vendor for all things Casio and are good people to deal with in my experience.

I had an issue once with an order being delayed due to some problem on Casio's end that was delaying stock delivery Australia-wide and they were very upfront about it and offered me a refund or substitution straight away. I decided to hold onto the order and they upgraded me to express shipping and refunded me 10% of the order total as well.

      Sounds good to me.

  • Wanted to post here to say thanks and say shopping at GLifeWatches was a great experience.

Ordered and promptly received delivery of the watch.

Very happy with their service and they also included a Shriro Casio Australian Warranty card inside the box.
Shriro Casio AU is the official authorized distributor for Casio Spare parts and Service in Australia. I had been on their website before and recognized them.

    Thanks again GLifeWatches! 😁
