    DC also have a hero called called Captain Marvel that has been around decades before Marvel did. Due to legal reasons, they can not use that name in the title of comics or movies. Instead the comics and movies use the name Shazam (which is the name of the wizard).
    But main characters name is actually Captain Marvel. Although they don't reference it in the movie at all.
