Birthday Freebies Update

I've noticed this year I haven't got quite a few of the Birthday Freebies.

Nothing from Taco Bell, Pizza Capers, 7 Eleven, and Krispy Kreme even though I got them last year so I know they have my birthday right.

Muffin Break I got this year which is a new sign up, but nothing from Donut King, Brumbys, or Baker's Delight but they're all new sign ups I did in November.

Lots of others still firing like Macca's, Hungry Jacks, San Churro, Cold Rock, Basin Robins, Concept8, Motto Motto, The Pass, and Monty's.

Has anyone had luck with the ones I've missed recently? Did they drop the deals or did I get unlucky?

    Nothing from Taco Bell

    Blessing in disguise imo

My body is a temple to be desecrated.

    • Taco Bell saved the day and manually added the offer to the app for me.

I must admit most items are mediocre at Taco Bell however the one item they do good at is the Cheesy G Taco

    • Some people might look forward to their annual clean out?

I can’t imagine the conflict of being so disappointed on your birthday…

Wouldn’t an alpha move be, to stagger your birthdays across different platforms - variety is nice, but you can’t use it all at once.

It's disappointing when major corporations forget your birthday 😓

The good news is thanks to apps most of them don't make you use it on your exact birthday like they did 10 years ago. Most have validity from a few days to the whole month.

I started my birthday food tour on Wednesday, and today is my actual birthday. By Sunday I'll have used most of the good offers.

Ditto. Hopefully Gerry sends you a card. ;)

      • Hey man, spare a thought for us losers who get more generic auto birthday emails from sites and apps I never even remmber signing up to than I do from friends and family!

  • I'm yet to receive anything from Maccas.

Myer, David Jones, Country Road, Boost Juice and The Body Shop are my usuals.

  • LPT: your birthday is the 1st of Jan.

Same as mine! Same as everyone else on the internet should be. Nobody listed above needs to know my IRL birthday.

      Valid concern.

But my full name and date of birth are already out there on social media plus any number of leaked database from corporate hacks.

Even though it's literally public information on various databases (e.g. electoral roll, land tiles, share registries) too many places trest it as secret private information so damage can be done.

      • Your online accounts will commonly use your DOB as an identity verification/recovery step in some cases, which means it does have to be treated as a secure datapoint even if you don't care.

But my full name and date of birth are already out there on social media

My DOB is hidden, and my name is shared by many other users giving some pseudoanonymity. My photo is also not of my face so nobody can identify me by visuals either.

Yep it's unfortunate. But that's not a cat I can put back in the bag.

I'm not going to do Jemery Clarkson and but my foot in my mouth, and pretend there's no damage that could be done with "public" information.

But eventually places will be forced to stop using publicly available data as security steps.

  • $25 off Sheridan and outlet min spend $150

  • I got the free meal in the Taco Bell app automatically, didn't even know they did a birthday deal so was quite surprised
