Laptop for Business - Budget $1,000

Hi. I am looking for a laptop for using business purpose.

Doing zoom meeting, YouTube video editing, word & might be some photoshop.

I check the Centrecom and found this one, looks ok for me. What do you think?

Lenovo Thinkpad T15 Gen 16G ram Nd 256g $1087
Budget is 1K 😅

I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks
Andy

At least include a link to that centre com laptop

I would say with content creation, you want at least 512GB if not 1TB NVMe as you will need space to save intermediate videos . Also 32GB of RAM so your laptop can manipulate the content.

Anything less to save $$ will slow the process

So i think 1K laptop will get you mediocre experience

      • T15 can upgrade both RAM and SSD so if can be a stop gap until OP is ready to upgrade.

        • I would then suggest OP to invest more on a better CPU in the beginning, as that’s non upgradable in future. But I hesitated, as OP would have even less RAM and storage to keep under 1k, essentially buying a machine initially good for … zoom meeting.

Unless OP increases the budget to accomodate this for 1.4k

@avoidfullprice: Agreed, I hadn't looked at the full spec, the one he has linked won't be any good for video editing.

As you have said, he will need good CPU and a proper dGPU, unless he can get the latest Ryzen 7 APU but they will cost double what his budget is in a business laptop.

Against the usual recommendations, with OPs needs and budget perhaps he is better served with a "budget" gaming laptop like TUF.

@OpayuOnam: Yup. And I didn’t comment further on the CPU/dGPU because i lack experience on what good combo is for content creation

I would think video editing is for content creation purpose. With such low budget, get a gaming laptop.

Supply business laptops on a regular basis, as other commenters have said with a budget of $1000 pick yourself up a gaming laptop.

Business grade laptops like the Lenovo ThinkPad or Dell Latitude series are great machines with good build quality and a great warranty system hence why businesses use them, but a tight budget like $1000 you will get much better value out of a gaming machine.

  • If you know what to look out for, a secondhand ex-govt/corp mobile workstation like the Thinkpad P or W series might suit.
