Looking for a cheap big screen laptop / Chromebook, mainly for connecting to a PC via RDP. As long as performance is good via RDP, not fussed about anything else. 17" at min,

  If it's just RDP then look at refurbs, ex gov etc on ebay.

  Alternatively have you considered a USB-C monitor for a second screen if you already have a laptop?

  Big screen, high resolution or both?

  I'd rather a Surface Pro or Book with a 1440p+ monitor than a 17" 1080p display for remote connections.

  Unfortunately most big screens with high resolutions are generally gaming laptops with high-end CPUs and GPUs that you don't need - and are expensive to match…

  MSI currently having a sale on their laptops at various stores, though this ain't a 17inch screen but its very cheap at $849 for a gaming pc, just lazy maybe searching, maybe they have a 17inch version on sale too,..or maybe way past your budget,..
