Bad Canvas Print Quality - MyPhotoBox.com.au

Hi,

First time posting on forum, so apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I purchased this bargain http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63601 back in Feb and recieved my order a few weeks ago, I've only just been able to see it as I've been overseas.

The quality of the print is pretty bad, bad enough that I won't be putting these up anywhere or offering them to family members.

I just tried to log on to their site but it's down, http://www.myphotobox.com.au/.

Was wondering if there were any other users that ended up getting this deal and how their prints came out?

I've sent off an email to suredeal who ran the deal as well.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

  • I purchase my myphotobox canvas voucher from jigocity and the canvas was completely unacceptable. Colour was really wrong (made person look like a sunburn lobster) and had no shiny protective glaze over it. Anyway I emailed them two, three time before finally I got a response which told me to email details to [email protected]
Emailed to her AGAIN all the details and still no response. So I started to call them on 1300 656 639 and ask for Maria. It's pretty hard to get through to her. Anyway, she promised a reprint and told me to wait a week or two to get it.
Didn't receive anything, so kept emailing and calling her again, and again and she keep telling me it's being done, or its done but to wait a few days to get it.
Another thing is if they keep promising they will call you back but they never do (not even one time)
Anyway…..I think I talked to them like about 10 times -sometimes to different people (they always keep lying saying it is being done or sent out). In the end from constantly hassling them for '8 weeks', I finally got a reprint back. The reprint is much more acceptable in colour but they still forgot to put on the shiny / protective glaze although they said they confirmed again and again it would be done. It was a very traumatic experience………. I think they hoping you give up chasing them for it so they don't have to do the reprint.
Myphotobox has not only bad canvas prints but also very bad customer service .

  • Well my question was going to be if anyone could offer any advice on their experience with My Photo Box but Ceceilia I think you have answered all my questions. Out of all the group buying sites I buy from Our Deal the most. Today I have seen a big canvas print that appears to be a good buy. It’s a 100x75cm canvas from My Photo Box. Does anyone else have any reviews or experience on these guy’s before I purchase. It seems to be a good deal.
    Feedback would be appreciated.

  • Do yourself a favour and run away from this deal.
    Don’t do what I did.
After buying one voucher and having no luck in receiving my canvas from them after 8 weeks, I was stupid enough to buy another deal for metal prints from My Photo Box.

After receiving my metal prints 9 weeks later, the quality was crap. It was very dark and was nothing like my original photo and basically impossible to get service through to their customer care.
I posted a comment on their Facebook page to get an update but the comment was deleted. I noticed around 60 deleted comments on the same thread I posted out so there must be a lot of other customers in the same situation as me.

Anyway I have given myself an uppercut from buying the second one and written both off. The saying “It appears too good to be true” is 100% right for this Mob. It’s surprising that Our Deal would risk their integrity on these guys.

  • oh crap - I just ordered a ouffer for a 100 x 75 framed print from them a week or so ago. Looks like the ouffer deal is still running too

  • I have been dealing with Photobox since May and ordered 4 copies of a photo album and have been hassling them since then. All complaint emails go unanswered, and I have made 28 calls to their 1300 number and 8 direct calls that go to message bank totalling over $10 with no result. Eventually I contacted someone who never rang back, and then was given a direct email address. Thinking AT LAST something was about to happen, I was sadly mistaken, as nothing has happened, I can't trace my order, I have paid the postage twice on all 4 albums, (As well as paying for the albums) so what redress do I have?

  • I've also been having problems with MyPhotoBox. I prepared three photobooks (took me hours) and when I tried to order them the Redemption Codes they issued wouldn't work. I have been trying for two months to get them to issue new redemption codes and have had the same experiences as many of you….they don't answer the phone, they don't return messages, they close the support dockets even though the complaints haven't been resolved. I also finally got a reply from a "real" person with a one line email asking to send the vouchers. I sent the voucher numbers and their own redemption codes through….but then nothing happened.

When I threatened to take a legal course of action I got another email but again asking for the actual vouchers. They were advised there were no actual vouchers, and to contact Ouffer directly for verification of that, but MyPhotoBox has not done that either. And they have not replied to any further emails.

I am now taking action through the Department of Fair Trading. I have just spoken to the department here in Queensland and they have recommended that anyone else with this situation also lodge a formal complaint through their respective departments of fair trading, as it's the only way to make the company responsible for its actions and perhaps get the matter resolved to each of our satisfaction.

They have also advised that there is a website to report this sort of thing: scamwatch.gov.au

Could I be so bold as to suggest that any of us with problems actually follow through with both these courses of action, and also start writing to all of the Coupon companies we are registered with to notify them of our complaints and ask them to stop dealing with MyPhotoBox altogether.

The more formal complaints, the greater the likelihood that they'll be called to account, and we might get what we paid for or our money back. Why should we have to write it off as a loss when clearly this company is at fault?

  • I bought an Our Deal World Map canvas 100 x 75 cm. I redeemed my voucher online on 25/8/12 and had to pay an extra $14.95 for shipping. The very dodgy looking payment page froze after submitting my visa card details and I got no confirmation that the payment had accepted, nor did I get a order confirmation email. I thought my order hadn't gone through, so went through the ordering and shipping process again. Same story, no confirmation email advising me of a receipt number or anything else.

Anyway, I've been charged 2 lots of shipping, the company will not even confirm that they have received my order and are giving me the complete run-around about refunding me the extra shipping charge. I even had to get my bank to send me a letter confirming the double charge and email it to them for proof. Now they are saying that isn't acceptable, their response was "If you want to get your money back, you must give me the transaction ID or Payment ID". What payment ID?

I've had an absolute gut full of the countless emails I've had to send. There is no phone support, just a recorded message advising to use their website for 'customer support'!!! The online support is some guy called Michael, who has dodgy English and doesn't know what the hell he is doing.

I have posted on their Facebook page, but my comments are removed pretty much immediately. Obviously they have someone monitoring their page closely, but they take days to reply to their emails.

I will be making a complaint as the poster above me has recommended. It has seriously made me wonder if I will trust buying deals online ever again.

  • Placed a Ourdeal Myphotobox order on 8th September 2012. Still nothing. No reply from 'Customer Service' at all. I know I've been ripped off. Not happy.

DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!

  • omg i just bought one from them too

  • Yes, Myphotobox is a crap service. I purchased a glass photo sometime in Aug 2012 and order to MyPhotoBox on 5th Sept. Neither delivered the product, nor customer service listening complaint. I lost my money. I will never purchase any item from mydeal.com or myphotobox.com. I will be raising this dispute to fair trading and ACCC.
Never ever purchase any item from ourdeal.com or myphotobox.com. They are after your money,,, and you will receive nothing. RUBISH don't go behind.

  • 2 months since my purchase, been advised a few times it'll be there in a week, also that it has to be redone do to bad quality, still no canvas, they are still taking orders tho, avoid these guys like the plague.

  • I wish I had read this forum before I bought my coupons from Cudos. Since then I too have become a victim of MyPhotoBox.com.au. The poor customer service I continue to receive is disgusting. I bought five Photobooks and have still yet to see anything. Their website contains errors so you can't preview your upload. I have used the online chat with the staff and spoken to several people who say the same thing, try again later. They claim that it's busy lead up to Christmas and that my albums have been printed or are in production, however I hold little faith in anything that these people tell me. I also found today when visiting their site that they have changed their name from MyPhotoBox to SnappySumo. In my opinion a clear a tactic to avoid bad press under their previous name and pass on the same dodgy service of ripping people off under a new name. Makes me wonder how many names they have traded under. I will NEVER use them again and strongly urge people that may happen across this forum to steer clear. If they do send me any books and going by previous user posts I'm now guessing I will never see anything, I expect the quality to be bad. I will raise another complaint with fair trading as missvivacious suggested. They should be held accountable. Very angry…

  • watch out they are now trading under the name snappy sumo. I had bought from my photo box took weeks and weeks to get canvas and the colour was nothing like original . The promised to redo them and now they can't be contacted or don't answer emails. We all need to report this company to fair trading

  • Being in this kind of business myself there are alot of rubbish prints on the market put together really unprofesional.
These companies should never be able to trade and they put people off purchasing goods from decent companies doing the same sort of service.
I would not be able to sleep at night knowing that i had ripped someone off.
Lets hope people steer clear from this website and take the advise of others.

  • This type of business ethic is quite shocking and as a business owner in this market I cannot believe that they can get away with it.

We have been trying to get our product into the market as we have outstanding quality and a product that has been developed here in Australia by us and is manufactured from start to finish right here in Australia.

These deal companies don't even give us a look in at running a deal so we can have more people can enjoy our great product and customer service.

This type of business dealings only give the rest of the industry a bad name and give customers a bad taste in there mouth.

What we would like to offer is to all the people that have had a bad deal if you send us your voucher and or receipt we will match the offer with one of Holding Stocks comparable products for the same purchase price of your voucher.

This comes with no strings attached and hopefully goes a little way to restoring your faith in this industry.

    • Holding stock- Would you kindly reply to my email. Thank you

  • please use edit button ….

  • None of this surprises me! I also have been having issues trying to get my photo book done. Numerous attempts to contact them and NOTHING!!! I will be contacting dept of fair trading in qld. I will also be contacting cudo! This just isn't good enough. Unfortunately it seems only the people that have been ripped off by these arseholes, are seeing this feedback, but it has to stop, they should not be trading obviously and people need to know before they go and spend hard earned money with this company- myphotobox or snappy bloody sumo, whatever they're called!!!

  • I too have been trying to have my order completed for two photo books purchased from My PhotoBox through Deals.com in November 2012. I have had emails sent to me very intermittently for the past 4 months concerning my order with My PhotoBox. Trent and Bill have made so many excuses for not sending their products, for example, machine problems, so busy, your order will be next, etc.
Today I have given up any hope of receiving the product and will be contacting the Dept of Fair Trading re both companies. My PhotoBox is obviously a scam company and as yet, Deals.com have done nothing to ensure or follow up on the business that they have sold coupons for a number of times. I have also sent Deals.com the link to this forum so that they are fully aware of the extent of this fraudulent company.
    Good luck to other customers.

  • Ive had the same problem since January received a bad Picture, corners were damaged and picture with fingerprints all over it while the paint was wet it seems.
Ive been waiting for a replacement since January and get the run around, i can find a phone number or an address on these guys, if someone has any info, please give it to me so i can sort them out, this is disgusting service.

  • Placed my order back in Feb. using Living Social voucher. Still have not received the item (it is end of August now). Paid $79 for a set of photoframes with photo, thought it was a good deal, the result…. end up with nothing. Contacted Living Social, they said the deal is over and can't do anything about it. Chase Photobox regarding my order since April, they kept on telling me the package is on its way, just wait for a few more weeks, then a few more weeks …… Now they are telling me the courier lost the parcel and they can't do anything about it. They are even trying to sell me products directly offering discount (what a joke). I think they NEVER processed my order and being very dishonest. Don't bother with this company, not matter how cheap it might seem, you will end up with nothing but stress.
