5000 Money Points (Worth $22.50 Cash) for Referrer and Referee Each after 1 Transaction (Card or BPAY) in 30 Days @ Virgin Money

170

Not as good as the $30 ubank offer but Virgin Money's Boost savings account currently offers a 0.5% higher interest rate after meeting their monthly criteria (32 days notice for withdrawal, deposit $2k into Virgin Money Go Account, 5 monthly transactions, max. $250k). I wanted to sign up for the savings account anyway so this was a nice bonus.

Note these are Virgin Money Rewards Points which are different to Virgin Frequent Flyer points. 500 points can be redeemed for $2.25 in cash into your account or another example that provides better $ return per point is $30 amazon gift card for 5485 points. You earn 8 points with every purchase (not per dollar) after meeting the above mentioned monthly criteria.

Maximum 5 successful referrals each month. More info and T&C's found on the deal's linked page. To get a fellow Ozbargainer's referral simply click on "random" in the below referral section. Sign up took minutes for me and with all my personal information leaked on the dark web I didn't even have to go upstairs to get my wallet.

Referrer will receive 5,000 Virgin Money Points for each referee who meets the Welcome Offer Bonus Points Criteria, for up to 5 referees in a month.

One thing to note is, from what I can tell they currently do not offer online banking through a desktop browser, I keep getting directed to downloading the app. The app itself isn't too bad in my opinion but I'd prefer to also have access through desktop. Not sure if there are plans to develop this.

    • And the customer service is shitty!

      • Not as good as Ubank. But I think is better than the Commonwealth Bank

        • Do you have this the other way around? That’s what I’ve found in my experience and based off comments re ubank since merger.

  • Yes. Don’t bother. Customer service is non-existent. Don’t waste your time.

Do you mean for ubank or virgin?

  • Do the referral links work for existing credit card customers with the Virgin Money app?
When I try and follow a link, it allows me to start the application process but then it says I am an existing customer and tells me to open the app. When I open the app I have to start again from scratch.
