  • Still waiting for travel credit since November

  • For the love of humanity AVOID ANZ at all costs and not just credit cards. Home loans, personal credit etc. Would like to see one positive experience with this "bank".

    • +7

      username checks out..

    • Positive experience right here. But I’m guessing because ANZ are my main bank and have my mortgage. I never have any issues with applying for CCs from them, always been a smooth process in the 6-7 years I’ve been with them. But I’m in a minority from reading the above thread.

  • +1

In today's post, almost all comments are about the previous ANZ offer…haha..
…including me, who's still waiting (3-4 months after) to see the rewards flow on through.

  • +2

Dont usually neg an anz offer as they have always been good usually

But this one has been bs. 4 months no rewards, met min spend in month 1, still waiting, auto redemption turned on as soon as i opened the card

    • I signed up in October.
Auto-redemption was set up, within 1st week.
I met the spend criteria in November.
Mid-January, I call ANZ and confirm the above information
      and
they still tell me that I have to wait 90-days for the rewards
      (75k VFF, $50 cashback, $95 Travel Credit).

Rewards program transferred to Card Services,
who then says another department (Loyalty)
can verify/confirm/administer the rewards, if it does not come through.

So, even inside ANZ themselves, they are figuring things out along the way,
sometimes unaware of the PointHacks deal and also, how it all should work.

      • +1

Whats weird is i got the 50$ cash back but not the rest of the promo

        • I didn't check my statements that carefully, but I just checked it now.

          Date Transaction Detail Amount Balance
          xx/10/2022 REWARD PROGRAM FEE $55.00 $x.xx CR
          xx/10/2022 ANNUAL FEE $40.00 $x.xx CR

I don't have anything that says "$50 Cashback" or "Credit"

  • +2

Previous credit card applications with ANZ were a shit show. I avoid them now.

  • -3

What! Only $50 back! NAB gives 60000 points back which is worth $300!

    • +2

      Both, duh

Apply at the same time and dont tell the other about the other one u applied for

      • The first CC application will still show up on the credit check performed by the second application. I am not saying that this will prevent you from getting the second card, but they still will be aware of the first credit card application.

        • Likely, but you wouldnt need to declare that new applications extra potential credit ull get if approved

ANZ and Suncorp: Future crooks wedding?

  • ANZ will be loving all this hate from the churners 😂

  • +1

I did not get Virgin Australia $95 travel credit. Any one got it?

    • +2

Not yet. I don't think anyone has yet.

      • Looks like we have to call them.

  • +1

Fulfilled all the requirements of the last one - turned on auto-redemption, hit well over the minimum spend, have now waited over 3 months, and still no rewards. They are useless on the phone, promise to get back to you but don't, so you have to call again. The secure mail feature on the website is "unavailable" and they won't discuss it via the message function in the app as that is apparently not secure, so you just have to wait through a phone queue to chase them again. They'd need to offer 750k points for me to consider ANZ again.

    • +1

Sat on the phone for 40min today, didnt hang up filled with much hope

  • Friend, brother, myself and my partner all still waiting for our points, SC and $95 travel credit. Only thing they delivered last deal was the $50 statement credit. Advise against signing up this deal, it's not worth it for sure.

  • +1

Do not recommend this offer unless you are ready to be on hold for hours to chase up on your bonus. After nearly 2 months (from points hack offer) I still haven't received the travel credit.
Worst out of big 4 when it comes to customer service!!!

  • I wonder if the only winner out of this was Point Hacks (and of course, the bank - ANZ).

Maybe Point Hacks got their commission and ANZ did not anticipate so many would take up the offer,
that ANZ might have over-promised this offer,…but not reluctant to deliver it.

Can this be taken to Dept. of Fair Trading ?
    or Financial Ombudsman ?

If enough OzBargainers ring up, one by one, it would send signal to ANZ.

  • Rejected even though have 2 HL's with them and huge savings. Guess they don't wanna do business.

First chance I get, I'm refinancing the hell out of there.

  • Have just received a welcome email for travel bank, might be the long awaited $80… Waiting for pwd email now

    • any luck?

      • nothing yet…

      • Received a "velocity campaign benefit" email today confirming $95 credit was added to my travel bank. Still now password to access it though, might have to give them a call…

        • after meeting the spending requirements?

          • +2

@gotcha: Yes ~6 weeks after receiving the velocity points

  • Still waiting on my points from October, they are so slow! Would not sign up again

  • $95 travel bank credit received

    • Did you already have a travel bank account? I'm still waiting for the password email (mentioned in the travel bank creation email)

      • +1

The travelbank is attached to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account. So I just log in using the same email address and password.

  • +2

Missed out on this one last year, saw an ad for it on IG just now, definitely gonna take it up… despite all the complaints in the comments lol.

  • Received my 75K points and 30 SC today (had card for less than a month), was in my Velocity account immediately after redeeming. $50 credit and $95 travel bank still pending but I'm already happy with the points and status credits.

  • Got approved in a few days. Only issue is I had to go in store to verify my ID.

    • I was able to do the id verification online but I had to call after that to get it linked to my profile and then I also had to go instore to setup internet banking after received my card

  • I recently applied for this credit card and received it via post within 1 week. However, I had to call ANZ to be provided with a CRN to be able to login to the ANZ app/online banking, it was difficult to get in contact with ANZ, but after a few attempts and long wait time I was successful. I was wondering if anyone knows if you need an ANZ savings account to be able to pay off your credit card early before the statement is issued? I can't see an option on the online portal or app to be able to pay the credit card from an external bank account, just thought I'd check in here as I have tried several times to contact ANZ with no success.

    • +1

Create a free Progress Saver account and link it to your CRN. That way when you cancel your anz card, you can keep your CRN number for next time! If you dont, you need to go through the hassle of a new CRN for the next ANZ credit card.

  • +1

Just got rejected for this card after having to send so many documents over. All for a supposedly low-limit credit card. :(

  • I won't neg the deal because the deal (on paper) is good, but good luck getting your points or other benefits without a lot of effort…

  • +2

Got a text from ANZ that reads:

Congrats! You've met the eligibility criteria for the Velocity offer on your ANZ Rewards Platinum credit card and now it's time to redeem your 75k Velocity Points, 30 Status Credits and $95 Virgin Aust. Travel Credit. To redeem, click the link before the expiry date of…

Text msg has a redemption code as well with a link. Not sure if it's genuine or a scam.

Did anyone else get something similar?

I had signed up for this offer in Oct

    • it's legit. go to anz link and scroll to the bottom to find clause 3. it mentions you will receive sms/email promo code to claim the points.

    • How far ahead is the expiry date? I hit the spend today and am hoping to receive the credits after March 1st. My Platinum renews then so any credits in the next 2 weeks are useless to me.

  • +2

Got the same text, followed link and got points straight away…..cancel this card tomorrow

  • Same here, got the sms just now and after following the online process - instant points in velocity account! Didn't have to follow up (or i kept forgetting to do it).. perhaps just a little patience was all it needed :)

  • Question - can we use these points to book a ticket for someone else (non-relative)? I've done it once last year but not sure if it was just because covid times (not many ppl were flying).

    • +1

you can book a ticket for anyone. when you book it asks to input a name, it isn't defaulted to your name. Have done this on several occasions with qantas and virgin.

      • -1

Yeah, it is showing my name by default but editable.
        Thanks!

      • I don't think you are meant to do it though if not relative. It's like the transfer . I could be wrong but I feel otherwise would be a way to transfer points to a friend if you can book for them.

  • For those awaiting points, SC, cashback etc months after meeting the spend: Just lodge a complaint. My complaint response from ANZ:

"an error in processing resulted in promotional bonus offer not being applied to your credit account. This has now been corrected and the offer will be fulfilled within 7 days".

Points deposited within 24 hours of the complaint response. Am pursuing a refund of the annual fee as they are incompetent.

    • Got my annual/rewards fee refunded after delays:

"On this occasion we will credit your account with $95 as a once-off goodwill gesture, to fully and finally resolve the issues arising from your complaint…It is not our intention to adversely affect our valued relationship and we acknowledge on this occasion we have let you down".

    • How did you raise complaint? Using chat option in the app?

      • Go onto ANZ website and raise a complaint. You will be allocated a ticket and a case officer.

        • Thank you..I will try that

  • +1

Finally got my travel bank $95 credited on 12 Feb into existing travel bank account - 75K point received Dec 9th. I did not make any calls to ANZ.

    • +1

how many days after reaching min spend did you get it?

      • My timeline was: Applied for card on 9th Nov
        Received card on 15th Nov
Set auto redemption on Nov 15th, chose "Redeem as many Velocity Points as possible, in regular intervals", with a starting date of Nov 23rd.
Minimum spend beemit transaction processed 21st Nov.
$50 promotion credit received on 8th Dec.
Received 75k points on 9th Dec.
Received the $95 travel bank credit 12th Feb (into existing travel bank account).

So, to answer your question almost 3 months after meeting the minimum spend.

  • Have just received the text to redeem, more or less after 2 weeks I've hit the $1.5k spending.

Points hit my accounts minutes after I redeemed.

Does that mean I could close the ANZ credit card now?

    • Got the text today, after $1.5k spending were cleared two days ago.
Got the 75k points immediatelly once I went through the redeem process.

      • Likewise. I'm wondering should I cancel the card as they haven't posted the annual fee yet. I don't care about the $95 Virgin credit so got nothing to lose.
Has anyone else done that and not got charged fee after account closure?

  • got the rewards (except the virgin $90 credit) 2 business days after meeting spending requirement. To those that didn't receive the reward, you most likely have forgotten to set up auto redemption in anz reward page. You have to sign up and set it to auto redemption prior to meeting the spending requirement.

  • Does the status credits expire after 12 months even if accumulate some more before the existing ones?

    • +1

Status credits all have a 12 month expiry from date of earn

  • Rifht finally got the text wirh the code to get my bonus offer.

    My timeline was

    October got the card
    Met the spend by december
    Complained in february
Got the text end of february

  • Does anyone know the expiry date of the redeem voucher via SMS? I've just hit min spend and going overseas shortly with a different sim card. Hope I can still use the redeem voucher for my velocity points if I action it 3 weeks later?

    • You probably won’t get the SMS for 3 months anyway, but the expiry period is 2 month.

  • -1

I cancelled this card to churn other cards. I had already received my $50 refund, bonus points, and status credits. completely forgot about $95 Travel Bank Credit. I had to chase them multiple times for the other benefits… Think I'll have any luck chasing them for flight credit, even after cancelling? lol

    • You could still get it, since officially it can take up to 4 months after meeting the minimum spend.

Try chat in the ANZ app.

    • yeah you may still get it. I cancelled my card back in Jan and got the travel credit in Feb.

      • -1

Did you have to ask them?

        • nope. I didn't bother contacting them.

  • -1

Good thing I re-read this thread. The $50 hit OH's account a month or so ago, I've been keeping an eye out for an email re the rest, didn't expect it to come via SMS, and she doesn't pay any attention to things like this 😂. So I had a look and anyway turns out it came three weeks ago. So still plenty of time, but glad I checked!

Edit: The points and SCs credited six minutes after completing the form. The travel credit says up to four months, but that was always a nice to have, the 75k Velocity points were the main goal, so ANZ's 100% success rate (at not giving me any credit card related hassle) remains intact.
