I like the idea of these advent calendars but I can't get round the fact its a couple of cool minifigs and the rest is just rando bits of lego stuck together

      • Totally; had the SW one, you'd be building random sets, some made no sense.

I remember the debacle two christmases ago where it spent about 5 days constructing a weapons rack. People were a bit mad.

      • Yeh, apparently, I value minifigs at < $5 not $6, and no value on extra blocks.
I put a little more value in Drax's potted-Groot xmas-styled sweater though, if you look closely :)

I got this for Christmas, after doing previous ones.

This one is terrible, most days it's just random junk that is kind of supposed to look like things, but not really. There's about 5 micro "spaceships" in the vaguest sense and are really random, not really iconic instantly recognisable things.

There's also some set dressing that is essentially supposed to be containers of junk and tools. It's a lazy ripoff.

100% what has happened is that Disney didn't give them full access to the actual Christmas Special when developing this set, and they just had to wing it and come up with something, hence the random things that don't line up with the Special.

I have heard the Harry Potter one was much better, since it's either Minifigures or instantly-recognisable minibuilds that add to the scene. The City one also looks pretty good.

  • Thanks, got the Harry Potter one
