      Cheaper at Amazon by $2.99.

This set is good for year of bunny, and can be less relevant in the subsequent years. But very likely this is a limited release for this year only so its value may increase more in the future.

The set in this deal post is better for most of the lunar new years if you are not looking at it as an ‘investment’.

      • if they dont mass produce it like with all recent sets

they are still selling previous year of tiger sets

  • +1

I think you also get a free Lego bunny as well

    • the bonus bunny is out of stock at Myer

      • I've been trying to checkout with the bunny since around 630am and it's been throwing me errors. Tried delivery and c&c.

      • Which store out of stock? Try to go there later lol

      • I got a confirmation this morning with the bonus.

        • Just tried and its showing a blanket GWP being out of stock regardless of C&C or Delivery.
I have Myer vouchers to use but want the GWP

    • Is the GWP really the Lego bunny? I am asking because it doesn’t say and it might be the Lunar New Year add-on pack like I received from the Lego store for my purchase a couple of weeks ago.

      • It is the 40575 year of rabbit

        • Ta. Waiting for it to be back in stock then will proceed to order

          • @FrugalNotStingy: My sister ordered this yesterday at Fountain Gate (Vic). Although online it said GWP out of stock when she went to pick it up (click and collect) she asked them and they actually had the rabbit under the desk so my sister got one in the end.

Might be worth calling your local Myer to check and click and collect.

            • @bluz48: I am too lazy to do click and collect but yeah, it might be the only way to get the rabbit AND the set at discounted price.

              • @FrugalNotStingy: Got the set on its way but the bonus is not in stock and cancelled.. will refund $0 back to me. This is a scam!

                • @star16: They cancelled just the bunny or the whole order?
I wonder if I used one of my Myer One rewards would they return it back to a gift card in case I want a refund because they end up not giving me the rabbit? I never returned anything bought from them using Myer One Rewards as partial payment.

If Myer doesn’t have the rabbit in stock then I will get the 80110 and 80111 sets from Amazon when they go down further…

            • @bluz48: Did not work for me eventhough they had stock. Staff refused to give me one. Said for instore purchases only. What a bitch.

              • @first in line: Sorry this happened to you!

That's crazy. What difference does it make if you paid online or in store, it's still supposed to come with the free gift if they have it in stock.

              • @first in line: You should have asked for a refund and then purchase it again instore with the GWP rabbit to let her do all the work.

                • @FrugalNotStingy: Then I would have void the 11% cashback

                  • @first in line: but now you‘re without the rabbit. I would rather not getting the 11% cashback than not getting the GWP. People now are selling the rabbit on ebay for $30+. Yes, the rabbit doesn’t look very nice but at least they are limited.

                    • @FrugalNotStingy: Ended up getting the GWP after complaining on Live Chat. Had to click and collect from the store though as their online warehouse ran out of stock

                      • @first in line: Was it before the 25th when they were still still had the offer? I caved and bought one for $30 on eBay because I did not want to risk not be able to get one.

                        • @FrugalNotStingy: Yes bought during the promo. Damn, I would have sold you mine for cheaper lol. Don't really collect them

                          • @first in line: 😂 I don’t really like them either, I reckon they look like Duplo but I have been collecting them since the Ox. Since then it has become my habit of getting the yearly LNY/CNY sets together with them.

    Chinese New Year!

    • +3

Lunar New Year! It is not only the Chinese that celebrate the new year….

      • +24

someone open a pho shop in Chinatown, now demand Chinatown to be changed to Lunar town.

one backpack celebrate Australia day with everyone else, now he demand to change Australia day to Lunar day

        • -8

No one is demanding anything. Chinese celebrate Chinese New Year, Vietnamese celebrate Vietnamese New Year, Cambodian celebrate Cambodian New Year etc… Together they are collectively called Lunar New Year as they are all based on the the Lunar calendar. Businesses want to capitalise on all the races because they are greedy (profanity) so they call it Lunar New Year. I don't understand why this issue is so controversial. Shouldn't we all be celebrating?

          • @xers: Please calm down

          • +2

@xers: Chinese New Year not based on Lunar calendar, get your fact right at least.
Lunar calendar new year is in JULY

          • +3

@xers: The English language does not change to a different name just because people from around the world speak it.

      • +15

Having 'Chinese' in the title doesn't mean it is celebrated by the Chinese only. Similarly Chinese food can be eaten by others too, not just the Chinese.

        • +3

Wait that's not how it works

        • +3

Smartest thing I've read in this thread…

      • +14

“Lunar New Year” is actually different according to cultural locality. Indians have at least two different Lunar New Year dates. Middle East and West Asian celebrates a couple more different ones. So optusprime calling this one Chinese New Year is not wrong, maybe just not politically “sensitive” enough. Most of the countries that celebrate this particular New Year are countries which are historically, heavily influenced by the Chinese culture. A few examples are Korean, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan…etc.

@leoleakey: They don’t pay taxes to China though…

            • -4

@Max999: they don't have seat in any global organisation, or they not even allow to use their flag in any sports event, coz it's part of CHINA

              • @leoleakey: Hey John Cena. How's that CCP payroll working out for you?

            • @Max999: Well, I fully hear ya! On the same note, I hope that the Ukrainians will never need to pay taxes to Russia just because some people in Russia think they should

              • -1

@Dune: Settle down with all the politics. Were you just as vocal about Iraqis not having to pay us tax a decade ago?

          • @leoleakey:

            Taiwan is not a country

Mmmm… and the Uyghurs don't exist, Tibet was never independent and Xi Jingping doesn't look like Winnie the Poo.

The fact that this comment received 12 upvotes is proof of how many low life, 50 cent shills frequent OzBargain and brigade any post with the slightest connection to China in a pathetic attempt to cover up facts contrary to their motherland's propaganda.

            • -2

@Gnostikos: I think you mean downvotes but sure. Its a free country to have an opinion or is that not allowed anymore? Or maybe I can just namecall you as a shill who is paid by one of the 5 eyes spy countries. Oh and you also don't talk about the subject of Scottish independence and freedom, how the government didn't allow it and why it even needs English approval for a referendum in the first place?

              • +1

@fuzor: Strictly speaking, Max999 and I have been humorously talking about taxes, which is quite related to the spirit of saving money resonating throughout this beloved website. You on the other hand, are the one who keeps on speaking of pure politics and demand personal answers. Now namecalling? No one is taking this Lego thread quite as serious as you are apparently. In the spirit of this New Year for the many good people and wonderful places around the world, let us just chill and relax, ok?

              • @fuzor: Lol. Get out of here with your nonsensical CCP whataboutism, comrade.

You CCP apologists are so predictable and hysterically oversensitive.

"B-b-buh wHaT aBoUt… insert irrelevant analogy to some historical Western faux pas". Every. Single. Time.

I think you mean downvotes but sure.

No I mean the fact that 12 morons agreed with leoleakey and seriously believe that Taiwan is not an independent country and is somehow a part of China.

                • -2

@Gnostikos: Just goes to show how ignorant you are. You've been watching too much fox media that you don't even realise that Taiwan's offical name is Republic of China.

Perhaps you should stave off the 5 eyes spy media for a while, comrade.

      • Chinese celebrate the new year 2023 on Jan 22. Lunar new year 2023 is in July.
It doesn’t make any sense to celebrate lunar new year now

      • By the same logic, English should be called alphabetical language not English because it is used so wildly not just by the English people KPOP should be called APOP or WPOP because everyone is listening to it. The lunar new year non-sense is totally political driven and the ultimate goal is to deny Chinese culture to flourish.

      • can't even copy the homework correctly….lol

I wanna buy the year of cat Lego. Is it #80111?
Ops hand on… Lego thought it is a rabbit not a cat

    • +2

Let's celebrate the Lunar day next Thursday the 26th… Any BBQ deal?

      • do you want cat or rabbit, lol

        • I would watch whatever claims the political right

    • That’s why I always wish everyone “Merry Roman Empire Christmas!” I won’t tolerate this generalising to other countries that also celebrate the event on the same calendar day stuff.

  • This set seems a little small for the $? Maybe just my perception.

  • +1

    $110 from Amazon

  • I have built both this and the bunny parade, beautiful sets. Also did the money tree one, cute too.

  • CNY sets have gone down hills since the first release.

    • First release was the best. The year of pig! Second best was the one after.

    • Better than last years at least! This set does look very nice displayed.

  • Where do ppl get their modular sets these days on discount? Myer never seems to include them anymore

    • +1

You might get lucky, Myer and David Jones do have them on sale from time to time but rarely.
I bought Boutique Hotel 10297 from Myer for $287.99.

Amazon is also another place to look, I bought 2 x LEGO 21330 Ideas Home Alone for $299 each.
I also bought 2 x LEGO 76218 Marvel Sanctum Sanctorum for $275 each.

      Keep an eye on OzBargain.

  • 99 bucks at Kmart, back in stock, but no gift with purchase.

    • Where at?

  • +2

Real Asians will only watch it on youtube.

  • -1

Love it! If it's not called Chinese New Year (CNY) anymore for some stupid political reasons. I will call Chinese Lunar New Year, CLNY which makes more sense. So I won't buy this Lego set if it's only for Lunar New Year just non-sense.

China isn't the only Asian country

      • So many CCP lovers infiltrated this site.
