    Melbourne's a big place.

No point recommending a place in Pakenham when you live in Plumpton.

    • South Melbourne preferable, but that should not matter, I do travel a lot usually

Based on my experience, a wheel alignment is around the $60 mark but depends on the car. My commodore was cheaper than my wife's previous BMW X3 which was AWD.

I haven't had one done for our new cars (4WD For Ranger & Hyundai AWD Tucson).

I'd just call around and see who might have the best price and isn't rude or painful over the phone.

    • I was learning about wheel alignment, folks say, if not done tires last for short duration. Suggest you to go for it.

      • That is very true. But I've had my cars serviced by the dealer since I've bought them plus both are not that old.

        • Ranger was serviced in October and owned for just under 12 months
        • Tucson is only 5 months old and has had its 1,500km check.

It's not something I would be doing every 3 or 6 months. Only if I noticed an issue or ordinary wear on the tyres.

        That's just me personally.

It DOES cause shorter duration as there’s uneven wear on the tyres

        • does rotating tyres throws out the wheel alignment done previously ?

what about wheels balancing where they clip more and more weights on.

Melbourne is big, use google maps to find what is close to you. prices are going to be similar everywhere.

The price differences could be just $10-$20 between shops. Any popular tyre shop can do that.

  • +1

It’s a reasonably competitive service. Prices will likely be similar. Ring a couple of places convenient to your travels. No point driving 20min out of your way to save $5.

  • I got charged $90, at the dealership, for an alignment on my car (FWD)

Best option or cheapest option? Those are two completely different things.

Google tyre shops around you and read the reviews…

Make sure you get a print out.

  • Bob Jane Tmarts have always provided me with good W/A results.

18 months ago I paid $75 for a 4 wheel alignment at BJTM Nowra.

Perfectly even tyre wear since then.

Done with BJTM for 79$, trick is book via online then walk-in, it saves 10$ 😂
