Hilton Amingiri (Maldives)

Hello All,

Looking for a better price on this resort.

Yes, I know it's a very expensive place.

Cheapest I've found is unfortunately their own website ($US2333) for 2 nights, including speedboat transfer.

Dates. 30/4 to 2/5.

Any suggestions for getting a better price, including their required speedboat transfer?

Thanks in advance.

Any suggestions for getting a better price, including their required speedboat transfer?

I normally bring my own speedboat, it saves the transfer fee.

The Casio AD said I can borrow his one if I look after the kids while he takes the misso out on holidays to his holiday villa in Santorini.

  • Maybe Paris?

Been fortunate enough to have been to The Maldives four times, including a stay at the Conrad, and twice at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives, so I am very familiar with the Hilton branded offerings there, including the new Hilton.

Are you sure you can only do two nights? (it will fly by so quickly, our last visit in July 2022, we spent 10 nights - and I can say WOW and wished we had a few more days) Do you need to stay at the Hilton? If you are flexible, there are often deals on sites like Luxury Escapes which can provide good value.

However, if you are stuck on Hilton (do you have any elite status? Gold/Diamond perhaps?) and do you have any points? its 110k per night (so you would need 220k points). There is a current 100% buy points promotion right now, max of 80k + 80k free … that's 160k points for US$800! so if you have 60k sitting there, you get 2 nights for $800USD plus the speed boat transfer which will be far less than the US$2300 you mentioned. Now with status, if you have Diamond (we do) you get free breakfast so that saves you a bit more money.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • We can do more nights, it's just I'd rather spend less on most nights, and splurge on the last two nights.

We're there for 2 weeks. 10 nights in 'standard' accomodation, doing activities, etc.

2 nights is the splurge component - hence why I've reached out to the community to see if there's any tips for better pricing with Hilton.

No status, no points, it's just this was the nicest 'more affordable ' option with a speedboat transfer.

Unfortunately I'm not yet a member of Hilton Honors - perhaps I can transfer some QFF / or Altitude points across and buy the rest?

If your heart is set on the Hilton, and the resort looks lovely, I suggest looking at the Buying Hilton points method. Even if you start from no points, you can buy 55k + 55k bonus for $550 = 1 night. Get your partner to do the same for the 2nd night. (There is an 80k purchase limit per account hence the above method).

Staring from zeo points you end up with 2 nights = US$1100 … then add your speedboat transfer cost (I don't know the cost sorry) but will come cheaper than the $2300 you suggested.

But then, I would also be looking at Luxury Escapes packages to see if there is a good all-inclusive resort rather than the above method.

        • you can also try buying points from others - there seems to be constant posts on ppl buying hilton points on here

        • Excellent suggestion.
Unfortunately the room we're after (overwater villa) isn't 110k points per night, but the beach villa is.

          Thanks though.

    • Did you ever make it to Angaga? Always been on my bucket list that one.

Me? No, I haven't been. I haven't heard of that resort either until this post.

We have stayed at the Sheraton Full Moon, Conrad Maldives and then Waldorf Astoria Maldives in 2019 and 2022.

We will be visiting the Patina Maldives next, can't wait.

Ask them to make it $US2000 and you will swim instead :P

    • Haha was thinking the same thing

  • Looks like a pretty average resort to me.

Time to step it up a notch dude.

    • and which resort have you stayed at and recommend?

Hilton do have a 25% price beat guarantee if you can find it a bit cheaper elsewhere and then get Hilton to match.

Yes, and I'm yet to find someone who will see it for less…

      Hence reaching out to Ozbargain.

  • If you flying to Maldives, at least stay 5 days. With all that travels to the destination, two day will disappear in flash.

Find a accommodation that sits your budget for 5 days.

    • Thanks.

      • That's what I would do too, good luck and enjoy.

  • you're going to the Maldives one of the most expensive if no the most expensive holiday destination on the planet….saving money isnt really an option

  • You don't go to Maldives for 2 nights unless you are there for the Insta pics and bragging rights.

But if you are really going for a truly relaxing resort break then look for other Maldivian resorts which would allow at least 5 nights for your budget. Everything there is super expensive including meals, activities and transport since you cannot just walk to a Pizza shop or a 7-11 and catch a Taxi or an Uber. Lots of resorts offer package deals which include in-out speed boat or sea plane and meals which makes it much easier to budget your stay.

    • Thanks.

I hope the splurging is the last 2 nights and not the first.

        • Yes, exactly.

          Last 2 nights of course.

Be aware that friends tell me all incoming baggage is searched - mostly for booze, which is confiscated (though probably returned to you when you leave?) - so any alcohol you want to drink is at the eye-watering prices of the places you stay. I'm not aware of any exceptions, DF shops or allowances. It's the 'captive audience' game I loathe. Expensive just costs even more!
