Any Deals on Single Stick 32GB 3200MHz CL16 RAM

I was looking for 32GB DDR4 RAM recently but couldn't find single sticks for cheaper prices at CL16 (found one at CL22 ~$134).

With recent eBay 22% deals, has anyone noticed cheap deals for single stick 32GB DDR4 RAM?

Current RAM: G.Skill 32GB RAM Aegis 2X16GB DDR4 CL16 3200Mhz (I am trying to match with this)
CPU: 5600x

Thanks in advance.

Why would you want one single 32gb stick to go with two x16's? You'd lose performance by cutting out dual-channel access

Agreed, single stick with two 16GB sticks makes no sense :/

        2X16GB

Not according to the OP, but that may very well be a copy error given the initial query.

    • Ah! thanks, looks like AMD doesn't do flexing like Intel. I vaguely remembered that even with odd number of sticks, Intel could do half dual channel.
I was looking to keep another memory slot free for future use :)

      • By the time you need more than 64Gb you'll either be on a new platform or just buy a whole new pair of RAM sticks. Certainly much better than keeping a slot free 'just in case'

  • Ah! thanks, looks like AMD doesn't do flexing like Intel.

no. You can always do unbalanced dual channel on both platform, meaning once you run over your dual channel capacity, the rest of the capacity will have single channel performance.

BUT, as a 32G DDR4 stick will almost always be in a 16Gbit Dual Rank configuration, do you know for sure if your 16G sticks are 16Gbit Single Rank to match?

even if they are matching in per chip capacity, how are you going to make sure the new RAM will be the same manufacturer as your old ones(e.g. Samsung/Hynix/Micron), so they remain compatible?

    • Current ones are Dual Rank - Samsung C die as I remember (from Thaiphoon burner). Got another pair of same RAM

      DRAM Manufacturer: Samsung
      DRAM Components: K4A8G085W[B/C]-BCPB

      • so you've got a few sticks of 8Gb per die.

and a single stick of 32G no matter what brand/make will be 16Gb per die for sure.

what's the chance of them being compatible?

        • Got another pair of same RAM

I mean I ordered another pair of same RAM for $124, so it would be 4 sticks of same unless they have changed chips now

          • @bazingaa:

unless they have changed chips now

which is highly likely. Because it requires 16* 8Gb chips to make a 16GB stick, but only 8* 16Gb chips to make a 16GB stick.

Once they run out of their excess Samsung 8Gb C-Die stock, they will almost always use 16Gb chips.

RAMs from 2 different pack is never guaranteed to work together.
