Seiko Prospex "Lagoon Turtle" SRPJ35K - $577.50 Delivered @ Starbuy

Tropical

Hello everyone….

It's been a while since we did a subscriber special offer but …we have a few in the pipeline & I am really pleased to be able to offer you this deal courtesy of our friends @ Starbuy.com.au

We have a 30% discount for you all on the SRPJ35k, aka the "Lagoon Turtle"

This "Special Edition" release is part of Seiko's Prospex collection, which is designed for professional use and outdoor adventure. The SRPJ35K boasts a durable stainless steel case and bracelet, as well as a hardlex crystal to protect the watch face. The watch also has a water resistance of 200 meters, making it suitable for diving and other water sports.

As you can see, the watch has a wonderfully colourful bezel that is designed to reflect the colours & diversity of marine life in tropical lagoons.
This colourway also extends to that turquoise hour hand which I think looks pretty awesome!

The design of the SRPJ35K is both stylish and practical, with a bold black dial & LumiBrite filled hands & markers for easy visibility in low-light conditions.

Wished they had reissued the blue lagoon instead. Not a big fan of the color scheme on this one. Thanks OP

    • Yes who decided that this reference is called "lagoon" when there already was one

  • I love a good prospex, but I think I'll give this one a pass, just doesn't do it for me. Thanks though

I like the look of it, but still think it's overpriced for a non-King Turtle. I see 6 digits under "Special Edition", so I don't feel the FOMO. And there's nothing special about it; no special box, no extra strap, nothing. It's just a Turtle with different colours.

Incidently, I saw this for $618 (dropped from $825) on Shiels last night, which is strange for a new release "special edition" and with the amount of vouchers they send me, I can get this for under $600 anytime.

Edit: Did a quick calculation, with my voucher and cashback from either CR or SB, I can get this for ~$550 right now (yes, my purchases from shiels track everytime, even with vouchers)

Edit: You can get $20 off first purchase at Shiels, so anyone can get this for ~$560 with cashback. Not a deal.

Edit: I checked my cashbacks and it was mostly Cashrewards, one time being 20%, but mostly around 10%. I'd go with CR because Shopback can be a bit dodgy with tracking.

    • Seiko is very specific about their labels.

Special Editions are not limited, just unique colourways in certain series (e.g their Save the Ocean series) and are manufactured indefinitely.

Limited Editions are the ones that are restricted to a certain number of manufacture.

      • I am aware, I own many SE and LEs. iirc my save the ocean Turtle came in a special box with all the marketing BS, same with my sammy. But I don't care about the box, this it just a shitty deal when you can get a King Turtle for around the same price. I remember a deal for King Turtle with a pelican case and extra strap for $499

And the fact that you can buy the same watch for cheaper (with cashback) from Shiels.

(e.g their Save the Ocean series) and are manufactured indefinitely.

Not nesecessarily, they are always coming out with new save the oceans. For example, my STO sammy is not available anymore. So are other older models. So I guess the 6 digits under "Special Edition" actually serve a purpose. Only 999,999 pcs wordwide!

        • No that's just a serial number.

          • @TheRealCJ: Ok cool, doesn't change everything else in my comment

Agree, if you can get a king for that price it's a no brainer. I don't think OP's deal is worth it. Sorry OP.

Also what does the third party tag mean?

      • Dunno, probably something to do with the Youtube channel

        • -1

Oh right, they get commission for anyone using that code. Worth the neg then

          • +1

@ShouldIBuyIt: I asked Deepak, there is no commission from Starbuy. Must be because he has linked to his Youtube channel, nothing wrong with that.

I have some lovely Seiko watches
Dress watches a nice new dress watch would be nice. I don't dive so the divers don't work for me..I like the pretty ones
    Sharp edge, prospex etc

    • Check out the orient Ray/Mako/Kamasu, they are diver watches but lower profile than seiko samurai/turtle. Also cheaper, although prices have picked up last 2 years

Op should add the Citizen Fugu Auto (Sapphire) $349.00 del to the title seeing you posted it last time for $400.

Sorry mate, I don't monitor price changes etc.

The offers I post are simply standalone discounts for my channel viewers. I merely post them here as a courtesy..that's all. Nothing less nothing more.

Anyway, hope you are well & keep up the good work. Whenever I visit this site I always see if you have posted anything that might interest me.

      Cheers
