What Type of Watch to Buy?

Mrs iPhone watch series 3 was smashed by our toddler, we are trying to fix it but I don't think it will work out so need something to replace it

Budget is $200 or less, are the fit bits any good?

She said she uses it for just about everything.

Travelling to America soon so could pick something up from there too

Any suggestions?

    What features are required?

    • Good question, I have no idea tbh, but from the comments it seems another apple watch is a must.

  • You paid far more than $200 for your series 3. Look at 2nd gen SE.

    • "Look at 2nd gen SE."

I agree. If they had a Series 3, I am also assuming OP's Mrs has an iPhone.

Best recommendation to keep things working smoothly (she says she uses it for just about everything) would be to get new Apple watch.

All other smart watches will have limitations, which means Mrs will keep bumping into walls that prevent the watch from doing what they expect. e.g. using maps, answering calls on the watch, sending messages from the watch etc.

    • I paid $173 USD on 26/11/2018 (about $240 AUD then) while in the US. It was through Amazon with some crazy Amex promotion iirc.

      2nd gen SE it is!

  • i would get a garmin, fitbit is like planet fitness. lol

      so what's garmin like?

        Fitness First.

If she uses it for just about everything then the only thing that fits the bill is another Apple Watch. Nothing else has the same level of integration with an iPhone.

For $200 look at getting a second hand model.

I'd just spend more if I could and gift her a new Apple Watch. Get a good case for it so it's not so easy to smash.

Should probably stick to the Apple Watch. I wish I got my dad an Apple Watch; it would have detected his low blood oxygen like a year earlier at least, probably would have added years to his life.

Your toddler will struggle to smash a G-Shock.

    • Yes but I also have a dog that chews up everything.

      • I think to a dog an Apple watch is definitely less appetizing than a G-shock lol.

At least I know some dogs love chewing on plastic.
