Sydney Olympic Park (Accor Stadium) - Best Options for Concert When Driving?

Taking wife and kid to a concert at the end of next month at Olympic Park and wondering what recommendations people have for parking/transport options.

Don't mind spending a few bucks for parking as would prefer easy commuting option (as opposed to parking 20+mins away and walking at kid pace), but also don't want to be stuck exiting P1 at the stadium for over an hour at the end of the concert.

With free public transport, is parking near a station down the line a bit the best option, or are one of the alternative parking structures in Olympic Park area better? Lidcombe is closest train station,.but parking there is generally packed?

Concert is on a Friday night, so I'd expect commuter car parks still to be full of commuters in late arvo. Would be aiming to grabbing some food before hand also.

Will be heading north/freeway direction when leaving if that makes any difference to suggestions.

Hopefully collective ozbargain knowledge can offer some good suggestions.

Prepaid parking at Olympic Park is fine. The wait isn't that long and will be less than waiting for train and getting onto one.

    • I've read P1 next to the stadium has crazy exit times at the end of events though, so I'd assume some of the other parking lots a short walk away would be possibly less painful.

Who said the PT is free? If you are going to do PT, get a cab from Strathfield before the show, and then just get the train going back, however it will be an absolute sardines scenario. They normally run an unannounced service straight to strathfield and then onto central aside from the train to lidcombe.

The taxis are absolute scammers at the end of shows, they won’t drive you to Strathfield for anything under $100. There’s a bus straight back as well close to midnight but expect that to be full. But especially with the kid I’d avoid a PT ride home at that hour. Most people are reasonably behaved but the last time we did it, we had a track work bus and sat next to a miserable c**t the whole way back who complained about our existence despite, again, sardines

If you aren’t drinking, drive and park there if you can get a spot. I’ve done PT there so many times, the next time I’m driving. Long exits are pretty standard unfortunately.

With Uber you will cop the surge bs as well. Easiest option if not driving is waiting out the crowds but easier said than done with a family. Good luck!

      Part of the concert tickets.

Not drinking, heading back up the freeway afterwards.
      Would be intending on prebooking.

Hopefully it hasn't changed too much, last time I had to go to the stadium we parked in P6, just a bit further walk on the same Rd the station is on.

P3 is probably a similar distance but will be an uphill walk both ways.

Would just need to make sure they will be open on the night you'll be there.

There was some ticket parking on Australia Ave near P6 also, would be the quickest escape but is pretty limited.

  • My bus goes straight to Lidconbe, lots of parking on the route, eg around Woodville Rd
