Bidet, Which to Buy?

Finding it really difficult to find the best one (under $400), so much conflicting information.

Just want the best, basic ass bidet, nothing fancy like drying and lights.

I’m in Perth. How do I know if my toilet is using recycled or fresh water?

Comments

  • perth has no recycled domestic supply at this time, any recycled water is pumped into aquifers

    • Good to know, so I won’t need a bidet with a filter then?

I just have a sprayer hose that runs off a T intersection. Simple diy. My ass has never been cleaner and I use bugger all TP. It's also handy when you get those occasional explosive turds that just go all over the bowl. I'm not sure if the seat ones clean the bowl?

I don't mind sprays but only have experience using those in tropical climate. How does it feel in a cold winter evening?

      • +1

        Who cares. Ass is clean

      • I got used to it. It helps that the house is kept warm in winter.

    • I thought these weren't compliant in Australia without a special fitting to prevent backflow.

You can just wash your feet in the bathtub.

Correct. And your arse in the vanity.

      • Ha! Now I'm feeling flush with options!

  • If you already have a Costco membership, they sell one which is pretty decent for around $300.

It's got the bells and whistles though - remote, heated seat etc.

    • Is it possible to install a power point close enough for these kinds? As in - will the regulations allow it?

      • Yeah, we had an electrician install a power point near the toilet. Very easy!

WITHLENT Bidet Toilet Seat - Ultra-Slim Bidet for Toilet with Non-Electric Dual Nozzle(Frontal & Rear Wash) Adjustable Water Pressure, Fresh Water Bidet Toilet Seat Attachment,Easy to Install (Right) https://amzn.asia/d/9kL0APb

I recently bought this one, and it's pretty good. Simple and does its job, and it's only 40$, should meet your criteria. I'm going to get more for my other toilets

I don't have much plumbing experience, but managed to install it with only a wrench and screwdriver.

Make sure you check which side the hose is running into and buy the left or right version.

    • Thanks!

  • Don't waste your money on bidets.

    Better quality one: https://www.catch.com.au/product/round-black-brass-toilet-bi…

Both are good! I would get the second one because PVC hose is better imo.

    • So, do I just buy the two links you linked? The better quality links?

Yeah. Buy some plumbers thread tape too from bunnings. Remember to place the metal-rubber grate washer between the diverter and the hose (so the opposite end of where the water comes out) to stop shit clogging your hose.

You need the hose, diverter, sprayer, and the holder if necessary but you can get a $1 silicone holder from aliexpress that works the same. The one I linked above has a holder but I don't like screwing stuff into the walls so use double sided tape or get the one below.

        • How does the divertor work? Do u need to lean down and twist it for the handheld to work? As see some bidets sold with just hand unit and pvc hose but on those I would be worried with mains pressure constantly on the pvc hose.

          • @Henski: Three "states". Complete shut off is up position, water is available to hose gin between up and down, down position is water only flows into cistern, So keep it in down position.

If you're worried about mains pressure, just turn it off at the wall inlet or turn it off at the diverter.

These are nasty. A little joystick that lets you blast the warm pressurised water directly at your hole is much more civilised.

You're just not use to it. I've been all over the middle east, Asia and Africa and this is what the muslims use. When it comes to hygiene, I would ask a muslim over anyone else.

        • Yeah nah. Not doing that down in Tassie mate. Might be a great way to wake up spraying an icicle up your ass but it's just not for me. Plus I have found Japan to be more hygienic than most places in Asia, Africa and the middle east…

Do a search for "Bidet Spray" on Bunnings. Steer clear of the plastic ones. Say hello to washing and goodbye to smearing.

    • We bought a 99$ one from Bunnings 2 years ago. Works well.

    • Bunnings is a rort. Buy from catch.com.au

    • Yeah, I hate taking a dump outside of the home now. Worst part is when you’re so out of touch with TP and you accidentally get a little turd on your hand.

  • Bee using this for 3+ years, no issue at all.

Been on sale here a bunch of times, will find a ton of additional comments there.
    I'd buy it again

    • How much did you buy it for?

I don't get bidets, I mean how can water by itself cleanse without soap? You wouldn't just wash your hands/body/hair with only water and no soap?

    • +3

Works better than using dry paper to clean shit off.
      Pressurised water > TP

You dab yourself dry with TP after

  • I got 3 from ebay years ago was about $35 per unit.

Does everything I need which is just spray water up the hard to reach areas even has self cleaning mode where it sprays the nozzle.

No heating or lights just connect to the toilet seat and water line.

Paid someone on gum tree to do it.

    Solid investment so far.

Just don't fall into it as it is plastic and will break if apply too much force.

  • Oh my god. There's nothing wrong with the bidet, is there?

  • Just want the best, basic ass bidet,

Wouldn’t you be better with an arse bidet. One for a donkey probably shoots the water horizontally.
