Options for Cleaners to Use for Breville Espresso Machine Cleaning Cycle

I need to get more cleaning tablets for my Breville Dual Boiler, and was going to go for this the Breville 40 pack here: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07KP7Y9K7/ref=ox_sc_ac…

Then I saw that some people use a third party powder, like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B071Z9815Q/ref=ox_sc_ac…

What are people using for their Breville espresso machine cleaning routine? Any drawbacks from using something like the powder above, eg affecting warranty?

any cleaner and any descaler will do

I use the cafetto powder for cleaning cycles.
One tub should last you longer than your coffee machine :)

  • cheapest descaler of any brand is all you need.

  • A few teaspoons of regular citric acid such as can be bought in the supermarket.

Unless you live in a hard water area this works just fine.

Citric Acid is for descaling. This tablet is for getting rid of coffee oil residue in the group head and pipes.

  • I use Cafetto S15 tablets (100 pack) from Amazon for my Breville Barista Pro. Cost about $20 which will last you a bloody long time. I find the tablets more convenient than powder. You just pop one in without messing around with loose powder etc. Run two cycles of clean everytime you do it.

    This will not affect warranty.

  • Oh it was way to early…. I saw the OP headline and instantly thought ….your cleaner was using the machine cleaning cycle to make a brew… arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh It was a very late night.

  • I use those same tablets you linked in my dual boiler, they have been working fine.

  • Yes, same as KaTst3R - Cafetto S15 100 pack. works great. Been using them for 5 yrs

  • Is there any difference between the Cafetto S15 and F20 and J25? Or is it just the package size numbering

    • I was wondering that too?

I use the cafetto powder, as for convenience when cleaning the machine it's the difference between pushing a tablet out a packet or adding a scoop of power using the included scoop, so not very much between the two.

When it comes to soaking the group handle though the powder is a much more convenient product to use.
