$75 Credit Each for Referrer & Referee @ Rollin' Insurance

140

Hi guys, It’s my first post. ROLLiN' Car Insurance (rebranded NRMA) is now offering $75 credit for both the referrer and the referee. They are a no-frill insurance group underwritten by IAG. I have been with them since Oct 2022, and so far so good. I found their quote way cheaper than the other best quotes (pls correct if I m wrong :)).

To be an Eligible Referrer you must:

  1. be an existing customer of ROLLiN’ Insurance;
  2. have received a verified email address for us to contact you;
  3. be a ROLLiN’ Insurance customer for at least one consecutive month prior to participating in the Program; and
  4. receive an email invitation from us which will contain instructions on how to make referrals under the Program and a unique code to send to your Eligible Referees.

To be an Eligible Referee you must:

  1. be referred to ROLLiN’ Insurance by and receive a unique code from an Eligible Referrer;
  2. be a first-time customer to ROLLiN’ Insurance; and
  3. purchase a ROLLiN’ Insurance policy after being referred to ROLLiN’ Insurance and be a customer for at least 90 consecutive days following that purchase.

    What was your car, coverage and quote?

    The fonts they use throughout their website is terrible.

    I have been with them since Oct 2022, and so far so good

    Have you claimed with them? Unless you have then it's unlikely you would have had any issues with them in 3-4 months.

    I found their quote way cheaper than the other best quotes (pls correct if I m wrong :)).

    Nobody will be able to tell you. Too many variables with quotes.

      Yeah that’s the big thing, they’re always great until you actually need to claim.

    Love Rollin! I saved about $50/month on our policy for more coverage!! Went from market value to specified value and with a smaller excess. But they don't cover everyone or every vehicle type.

  • These guys still not offering policies outside NSW?

  • Perhaps not in Victoria yet? Didn't work for me

  • Where was the information in the OP sourced from?

    Rollin' was good until it was not. Specifically when I made a claim. TL;DR they refused to 'register' my complaint since AFCA won't bite without you first making a complaint to the insurer first. I have to find the parent company "IAG" and make a formal complaint to them only to be able to progress my matter.

    Don't recommend based on my experience.

      I work with AFCA complaints daily. AFCA are funded by the banks and are not in the best interest of the consumer. I beleive that they make it hard on purpose for consumers to complain. In your case, Rollin, is not the underwriter nor are they registered with AFCA so this is correct your complaint needed to be lodged against IAG. If you have not had a response yet, I am seeing 3-6 months at the moment for resolution.

      • How can AFCA claim they’re ‘independent’ if they’re funded by the banks?!

    • Can you elaborate further on what went wrong during the claim process?

      Cheers

      • Look basically 6+ months since the car been in the workshop. Insurer take no responsibility on their assessment and putting blames on the bodyshop.
        I have asked insurer to escalate my case but they refused to do so because 'it wasn't their fault'!
        I would have purchased another car, but with promises of next month, next week, next day and so on, I had to fork out for so much $$ on rentals.

        In short, I pay insurance for the piece of mind. At this point I would have probably better off selling my car parts online and write it off.

          Welcome to the IAG inusurance group. NRMA insurance are no better.

    I was called Poncho

    this isn't exactly a selling point regarding excess - "$800 for drivers on the policy, $3,000 for unlisted drivers. Bonus? You’ll only be charged once per claim." - So basically like every other insurance company charging you once per claim.

    Seems like a marketing gimmick aim at youth, not cheaper for our small car (Toyota Corolla)

    I was able to claim with them when I got into an accident. Fairly smooth process albeit a little bit slow.

    Initially called them. I didnt need a tow and car was still driveable so they asked me to submit the claim online and provided as much detail as possible. After about 5 days, received a call to book me in for assessment with a body shop. I didnt have any preference so picked the closest one to me (shout out to corso body works). Car stayed with body shop for about a day and they submitted the quote to Rollin. and after a week, everything was approved and all I needed to do was bring in the car for the repairs. The body shop actually took more than usual time to finish because they had to wait for parts. All in all, took maybe a month and a half for the whole transaction to complete. If it werent for the waiting for parts part, it would have probably finished in 3 weeks.

    this is also one of the cheapest insurers for teslas

    I was sent a referral code, but Ozbargain referral system does not support the new url format.

    Referal code is in this format. Have replaced my referal code with *.

    Rollin was the cheapest when I signed up. I should check if that is still the case.

    Edit: Nevermind. Mods have fixed it.

  • These guys are $50+ a month more expensive for me and my '15 Hyundai iLoad. I'm with Budget Direct

    I've been with Rollin (previously Poncho) for a few years and have found them to be great. Cheapest quotes by far for my car.

    Also I recently made a claim and they sent me to quality shop nearby to get work done with no hassles.

    I have referred a few friends with the $75 bonus too and they've been happy with them so far.

  • I got a quote and it was more money once you took the excess an agreed value into consideration

  • +2

    For me it was cheaper than previous insurer and the agreed value was way higher. Worth a look.

  • They do not cover street parked cars in NSW - fyi.

    • They also do not cover cars driven on roads in Victoria

      • From their PDS:
