bought one last year for $14x which was very good price. It is still in the box. Ordered another one to lower the average cost.

    Canning River here i come

  • +1

Anyone know if these good. I got two to test

    • +2

You can let us know after your test hehe

    • +3

theyre great - comes with its own foot pump.

The only issue is its reasonably bulky and they pack them in the equivalent of a coles tote bag which actually disintigrates inside of 6 months after buying. The handles are super flimsy and will tear. So invest in another bag or something to carry it in.

Apart from that its sound as a pound*

*unless it gets bitten by a shark, then you're stuffed.

      • Cheers for the review

      • Anyone got any suggestions/recommendations for a new bag? Mine’s still holding up after a few uses, but I wouldn’t mind having one on standby!

        • +3

          Ikea blue bags.

          • @ihbh: Great suggestion, wouldn’t have even considered that but it looks pretty ideal. Cheers!

  • Is it mandatory to sing "Banana Boat!" whilst in this?

  • Excellent timing, bought one! Thanks OP!

  • Got one

  • Does this come with paddles? Anyway, already ordered one :D

    • +1

      Paddles and hand pump.

  • Ordered one. Thanks O.P.

    • Payment is showing $0 as pending in CC though !

  • What happens if it deflates while in the water…….

    • +6

That's when life jacket comes in handy.

    • +1

I think something about it has 2-3 separate chambers (i can't remember exactly, but I think there are 2-3 air inlet nozzles and you gotta fill them individually - or maybe this is for the green model?) and I suppose one of the points of that is if one does go bust somehow, you can still manage to make it to shore

  • +3

For $83.98 Intex challenger is 72% off as well apparently.

  • Yellow triggers bull sharks, careful out there

    • +1

I think this one not suitable for sea kayak, only for river, lake, etc… Last time I tried to use it on the sea, can't handle well with the waves.

      • +2

Bull sharks frequent rivers and estuaries, hence my specificity. Only a madman would go to sea on that thing

        • +1

ah thanks, totally forgot that beast can live in freshwater too.

  • +2

Price is still available, just need to click Other Sellers on Amazon

    • 3 in stock when I clicked to cart, and none by the time I selected address, card and clicked buy. Now 15+ full price so I reckon they're drip feeding stock hoping people buy other models if they missed out

  • Could anyone who owns one of the Pro models comment how durable you've found the vinyl for holes? Particularly on floor/deck?

Probably a dumb idea but wondering if the dog could travel in it without sinking the ship

    • +5

No thumbs would make paddling a challenge for your dog.

      • PMSL at that visual! Well played!

  • +2

Very happy with this one, although I paid more than 140 last year.

  • Damn I'd have liked this :( if anyone has buyer's remorse…

  • Same as above, Private message me if you are willing to sell yours 🙂

  • me too. I'll be happy to grab it from anyone in Melb who doesn't want it

  • 180kg max it says, so can't have 2 100kg people

2 seater kayaks AKA divorce boats

  • I've got one and although the material looks thick and sturdy a small pointy rock on shore was enough the give it a 5cm tear. I've been trying to patch it with tyre patch kits but because it has creases (underneath is not a flat surface) it's been a pain to get the patch to stick to it. I finally stumped up for Stormsure glue ($25) and repaired it (I think).

Anyone get in trouble from the misses from buying first and asking later?

    • +3

Yes, mine just rolled her eyes and said "it's too early for this shit"

To be fair, I showed her as soon as she opened her eyes this morning.

I'm sure she'll enjoy it when we are sailing the high seas

      • Good luck with the high seas. Bring your life vest… 🤣

    • Buy first, show later…

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a good (and cheap) life jacket or boyancy vests for adults and children that would be good for this?

    • +1

Found decathlon had the cheapest. They all pretty much do the same thing. Some are just a bit bulkier.

  • Great deal. I missed out.

  • Received today, thanks op

    • Lucky you! Mine was just shipped with Aramex, means I won't be paddling until summer is over…

      • Gosh I just checked and mine is coming by something called dragonfly. They have a 1.4 stat average review.

        • you'll find that most couriers have poor reviews as typically only the ones that are not satisfied will get on their keyboards. I've received 100 of items over the years and not once left a positive review for a courier. I don't leave positive reviews for shipping companies just doing their job, unless it's above and beyond.

          • @gimme: Yeah they ended up delivering pretty fast (dragonfly). Though they left it right at the boundary in plain sight (we live on one of the business road in Sydney). Lucky we were home or it would have gone walkies.

  • Delivered today, don't even remember ordering it :^)
