  • “ Members must not have earned Qantas Points on a Qantas Points earning card into their Qantas Frequent Flyer account within the past 12 months from offer registration to be eligible.”
Does this rule out half of OzB? I’ve got a NAB card earning Qantas points each month.

    • I'd guess a lot more than half!

    • more like 70% at least. The other 30% probably don't believe in CC's.

    • Only half you think??? I am sure it's more than half.

As an OzBargainer, and naturally, a credit card churner, I feel personally attacked by this.

  • Hmph, I just signed up for the ANZ QFF Black card literally 1 week ago. Don't think I'll be able to apply for another card to make the spending criteria.

If you haven't had any points from the card go into your Qantas account yet, you can still activate this and it will work. It worked for me last year.

      • Thanks for sharing. I just got approved for a Westpac Altitude Qantas card last week and yet to receive the card. Hopefully it works as you said

        • Received the points yet? I made my first purchase on 06/02 but points were transferred on 16/02. I'm guessing it takes a little while.

          • @SteffanK: Not yet, I haven't even been issued with my first statement. Will let you know if I remember

            • @foxes28: All good! The bonus points appeared a few days ago, so approx. 10 days into my 2nd statement.

              • @SteffanK: I got the Qantas points from my first statement on 23/2. Got an email 4 days later from Qantas saying congrats on earning points for the first time. Still waiting for the 20k bonus points now

                • @foxes28: Yep i'm waiting for the 20k points too (been a month since first purchase, but only 2-3 weeks since points were transferred after my first statement).

I never got the 'congrats' email, though. What was the title of the email? I only have one about my linked card.

                  • @SteffanK: Subject: Congratulations, you've just earned Qantas Points on your credit card

      • Just applied and was approved not long ago. Hope it works! Thanks for sharing!

      • Thanks for the tip! Hope this is the case.

Also, I have met the requirements for the sign-on bonus for this card (110k QFF pts) and is pending deposit into my QFF account. I was hoping to cancel the card after receiving the ANZ pts.

Do I need to keep this card active to get these extra 20k pts? Or can I cancel after getting the ANZ bonus pts?

        • I cancelled my card before receiving the bonus points from Qantas, so yes, you can cancel the card so long as the points from ANZ have already gone through to your QFF account.

  • My wife earns around $50k p.a. gross, all our housing is paid pre tax as well. Anyone have a recommendation of what qantas credit card we would have the best chance of being accepted for? Cheers :)

  • Might as well add OZBargain members excluded!

  • Hmm so if we registered for the previous offer, and first Qantas points from card are due to be posted in the next couple of days (before the 6th of Feb) can we register for this deal and get a second lot of bonus points?

  • I need to get into cc churning. Is it not advisable if im looking to buy a house soon? In terms of borrowing capacity / credit rating?

    • Yeah I wouldn't until you buy the house

    • What I have been told is that your credit card reduces your loan capacity by 10folds. So if you have a credit card limit of 15k, it reduces your borrowing capacity by 150k.

  • what if you contact your current Qantas credit card supplier and give them a different QF account number to link to your card would it work?

  • So if you register before feb 28, you can still apply later and as long as you get approved and do your first eligible purchase in 30 days, you're good?

  • Anyone received this yet? Registered 03/02, made first purchase 06/02 and points were transferred 18/02… but still nothing showing on QFF site.

    • Was thinking the same thing, made my first purchase but no bonus notification..

If you have successfully fulfilled the offer requirements, please allow up to 12 weeks for your extra 20,000 Qantas Points to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards account with the description ‘Credit Card Bonus’.

      • Thanks Chris. A long time to wait! Will see how we go.

  • Is there any way of seeing on the qantas website that you have registered for this? I took a screenshot of my husband's registration but not for mine and I am worried I will have no proof in a dispute

  • +1

got my 20k in advance of my actual card points
