Price Jacking during eBay Promotions

Hi
Today I got one of the sellers on eBay, with proof of a price hike for their product by mistake. He forgot to delete one item from the listing products which you can see, just need to share it with you guys so that we all aware of the mentality of these sellers.

Basically, eBay give promotions for sellers so that their products can sell quickly and the customers can get a discount from their regular price. But these sellers are greedy they increase the price and after eBay discount customers get the item at the regular price as usual. eBay's management needs to see these types of unethical movements on their site and administration, they pay full price to the sellers even more than the regular price, but they never see these things.

For example, if the seller sells the item at a regular price and during the promotion period eBay has to pay less top-up amount to make the price equal to the regular price, as the price hike they have to pay more top-up to make the seller's new hiked price. The seller I was watching their activities you can see and share with your knowns, links are:

Synology DS923+ 4 Bay NAS DiskStation Diskless Gigabity Home Network Storage $1039

Thanks

Yeah, this isn’t a great revelation as you may have hoped
We’ve been aware of it for so long we’ve personified it as Jack D. Price

Please contact Jack for all your price jack complaints.

Quite common for eBay price jacking shenanigans.

Don't buy expensive electronics from eBay, too many warranty/guarantee/support issues when companies disappear or refuse to respond.

    • There’s still some decent sellers for tech imo eg digidirect

Lol was this posted on Internet Explorer a few years ago and only just now uploaded?

Not making excuses as to the buyer it doesn't really matter, but in case any of you aren't aware the reason prices get jacked during the ebay sales is because the seller actually foots a vast majority the bill for the ebay discount, not ebay themselves. I can't remember the exact figure but ebay only covers about 2%.

I think Ug the caveman was first to realise this 20948209830493248 million years ago.

eBay's management needs to see these types of unethical movements

Yup.. right after they stop allowing counterfeit items, dodgy chargebacks, general scammers, fee gouging …

    • Dont forget them allowing sale of asbestos etc

      • That'd probably rate lower than price jacking…. Nowhere near as much fee revenue

  • The burgers are almost better at eBay's Jack.

  • The internal combustion engine, it’s gonna chance the world!

  • Just FYI, eBay charges seller 12.3% plus GST selling fee

Where do you think the promo funding come from?
