Bleasdale Sparkling Shiraz at $138.24/Dozen Delivered ($11.52/Bottle) (Unlabelled) @ Skye Cellars (Excludes TAS & NT)

Tyson Stelzer has named this Sparkling Shiraz the 'Sparkling Wine of the Year under $25' in his annual Australian Sparkling Report!
He calls it "a downright delicious drink" and we think he's pretty on the money there.

ABOUT THE WINE

We select fruit from sandy and stony vineyards in Langhorne Creek, ferment in open vats before maturation in seasoned oak barrels and tank to retain the aromatic lift from these soil types.

All small proportion of wine from clay/ loam vineyards fills out the palate and gives the wine length of flavour.

Using a secret liqueuring recipe this richly flavoured, deep coloured sparkling Shiraz displays dark berry fruit aromas, sweet plum flavours, silky tannins and a rich, velvety smooth palate.

Enjoy this classic Australian sparkling wine with Christmas pudding, duck dishes, roast meats or simply by itself.

Suggested serving temperature is 8° to 10°C

    Very good price.
Why do I need a password to your site if I'm simply purchasing? Can't be for communication because you'll have email, address etc.

    • Hi,
      It's a long story.
But in short it makes it easier to add Skye Club memberships to people with an account and password than just purchasing as guest.

  • Get some cleanskins ya pissheads!

Got a link? Splitting hairs maybe but previous batches were top 10 runners up, best was Ninth Island Tasmania Rosé NV. Still makes this a super deal @$11.51 delivered. I'll wait and see if I get a reply.

We were given a copy of this from the winery.
      And that's what we used.
      Cheers.

      • Okay thanks. Seems like Bleasdale were gilding the lily, unnecessarily.

There's a better Langhorne Creek sparkling red imo - Rusticana Sparkling Durif, but it's small batch and 3x the price.

        • We will have to get in touch with them.
Haven't tried any of their wines.
          Cheers

    • sparkling shiraz bleasdale vs ninth island rose …..very different weight and styles of wines ….then again guess wine writers need to write something to be paid

      • Respected wine commentator gives his opinion on his top 10 Oz sparkling wines under $25. Can't see anything wrong with that myself. Quite useful if you haven't tried them, even allowing for widely varying tastes.

  • Have had a previous vintage of these and they have been great. What's the deal with membership?
