Technically it wasn't the same thing. They don't sell it with the addition lumbar support.
If you're outside of Sydney/Melbourne (or if you are and need it shipped) you might end up getting it cheaper through Officeworks - $989 + $59.95 shipping to Brisbane, for example (instead of $990+$125).

The adjustable lumbar support is quite firm and a lot of people don't like it, so it's not inherently a better deal if you had no intention of keeping the arms attached.
But the total package here is better value overall if you do, just keep in remind it's a pain to remove the support.
True, I am on the heavier side of the spectrum and during my limited testing I found that it supported me well and was extremely comfortable. I was skeptical at first but it surprised me.
Whereas, the one without the additional support which officeworks sells gave me a sunken feeling while still feeling comfortable and it only comes height adjustable only arms which was a bummer.
I tested a lot of chairs recently and its amazing how there's no one size fits all, people have rave reviews for steelcase flagship chairs leap and gesture but neither of them were comfortable for me. The foam on the base was simply too thin for me.
The HM's were simply way out of range for what I was looking to spend at this stage. I was excited to see this one being listed for a decent price in a configuration I was after so bought it and thought I'd share it with everyone here.
Yeah far and away the choices in this price range are the Leap, Fern, and Zody. Great that we still have some value on offer in AU.

@Jfi2ee: The during last 6 months or so of my chair purchasing procrastination the no frills version has been that price at officeworks.
Not many places in aus even stock the Fern with lumbar and 4D arms
Is this bnib or displays? At checkout there was a box to tick acknowledging the item purchased is ex-sample.

sorry a bit confused, are all the Fern chairs ex-demo/showroom display? ie. the $1,430 says clearly its ex-showroom "ex-showroom display and is showing some signs of use", but the $1,650 doesn't. Does that mean the $1,650 is still ex-showroom, just no signs of use?
@Patat: @Patat new stock will be graded as 'New' in the product specifications. Any stock that is not new will clearly state in the product description and product specifications and will therefore be graded accordingly.
