Is This Gaming Desktop a Good Deal? - $799

Siren Vortex Essential RX 6600 Gaming PC $799

Seems like a fairly priced budget 1080p build for this price. You can upgrade the GPU to a Rtx 3060 8gb for an extra $70, is this worth it?

only if you think its a good deal.

This RX 6600 deal last month from TechFast would have been better.

    • Ryzen 5 5500 is a bit faster than i5-11400F
    • $699 vs $799

Unfortunately it's sold out. I suspect TechFast might have exhausted their RX 6600 stock.

      Yeah but it's Techfast lol

    • I would argue the bpc pc is better. The 11400 is noticeably better than the 5500 in games and the bpc one comes with decent parts such as an evga psu. Budget techfast pcs cut corners on ssds and psus and you just end up having to replace them.

It’s alright. Not great but not terrible.
I don’t know if there’s anything better at a similar price but there was this deal which was far better value. It might be worth waiting if you’re not in a rush to buy

    I wouldn’t bother with the RTX 3050 Ti, I mean “3060 8GB” upgrade

Nope, that's the crappy cut down 8GB version of a 3060 (which does not perform the same as a 3060!!)

    • Ye been looking at comparisons 6600 is pretty much on par with 3060. But did u mean compared to 12gb version? Thought 8gb is enough vram

      • +3

You probably assumed that both perform the same except the 8GB has less vram.
Despite both being named the “3060” the 12GB can perform up to 30% better than the 8GB even when utilising the same amount of vram
This is due to cutting corners in memory bandwidth. Just blatantly deceptive practice by Nvidia. Should be illegal

        • ^^sums it up perfectly ;)
