Best Phone Plan for Use in USA

Hi, I am travelling to Thailand and the states for a couple of months in May/June, and wanted to change my phone plan to one that has the best deal for using in tose countries for that time, without mucking about with local sim cards etc.

Anyone know who offers a plan, like Vodaphone used to have $5 a day international all you can eat roaming, not sure who still has this?

Appreciate any advice.

Cheers

Kenvin

    Pretty much this: https://www.optus.com.au/mobile/plans/international-roaming/…
    $35 per 7 days ($5/day), and 10GB.

Optus postpaid also offers $5/day to use plan inclusions overseas.

  • Best Phone Plan for Use in USA

    Best Coverage?
    Best Speeds?
    Best Price?

    • Yes all of the above…….. :) Obviously the cheapest that has terrible coverage is useless. But do want to have unlimited data access.

  • there's still that free 5G one, but i used Sims Direct on a US trip in December and had no issues

  • I think what you need is esim in USA for cheap, and convenient option. May be a dual esim phone.

  • Nice mate, what's the plans in Thailand and the USA? For fun, or work?

Gonna get some of that legal zaza?

    • Just fun, Phuket, may check out the zaza. USA is a 5 week road trip texas through to Kentucky, doing a lot of Bourbon sampling….

I find I need to get an eSIM so i have data/voice - but usually enable roaming so text msgs still come in (eg for credit card/bank verification) to my AU number.

Heaps of eSIM options these days. eg https://esimdb.com/

  • I would take a peek at Felix.
Their basic plan is $35pm (and the first month is free with a referral…) and the international add-on is $20. It covers 40 countries and Thailand and the USA are included.
The speed is capped at 20mbps but you get 4GB of data, 100 standard international minutes of incoming and outgoing calls and 100 standard international SMSs. It's valid for 365 days.
In these days of everyone having wifi access, 4GB may last you long enough (or not) and with Messenger of Whattsapp, 100 mins of calls might be plenty. You can always top up with another data pack.

  • Get a tmobile esim from travelkon or somewhere else, $50 for unlimited data for a month
