  • They've made computer motherboards for a very long time.. Never owned anything made by them. Like anything it'll be as good as it's warranty.

  • That is thicc

  • Biostar is a safe bet, they've been making components for PCs since the 90s. Cant say I have seen them do many GPUs but the company itself is reputable and trustworthy.

Safe bet? They have been around for a long time yes. They certainly don't have a reputation for quality or reliability. In fact they were so terrible in our group biostar was a meme before memes were a thing (decades ago).

Who knows, they might very different now though, but totally disagree with their reputation.

      • If they've been around for decades, they are obviously doing something right. They'd have gone under years ago if not. Plenty of tech companies gone by the waist side.

Only can recall Motherboards too myself.

          waist side…lol

Also just because something has been around for a long time doesn't mean it is good, that something in doing something right can be a bad thing. Now I'm not saying that Biostar is bad, I have no opinion on that, but Bernie Madoff was running his ponzi scheme for how many years before it all blew up, he was clearly doing something right….right?

          Your logic is not good.

Just find some reviews of this specific model. Biostar produced by far the worst 6600xt model to exist.
Companies can learn but it's worth finding some reviews about this product

these need to be cheaper then 4070ti

  • Probably not worth the risk given how bad their 6600xt was

  • HODL, sales are popping up a fair bit now so prices will drop steadily as demand for the XT is very low.
I also wouldn't recommend the 7900 XT or XTX yet, the AMD subreddit is full of posts about driver issues, VR especially with worse performance than the 6950 XT. See if it improves over the next month or 2.

  • BIOSTAR were a big budget motherbaord maker, often with integrated everything for the budget pc builders. BIOS was always pretty, had all the settings you need but not much else. A few have passed through my hands, all worked ~ the problems were cpu, ram or power (some psu's were barley 200w with PMO 600w rattings so you see where the problems came if it didnt just explode on the bench when powered on!)

So, basic, solid designs but budget…. BIOSTAR

4070ti V's 7900XT, raster the AMD is faster but with nVidia you get DLSS3 and better RAYTRACING. The reason for the price dropping thats coming to the 7900XT is its going to have to cost less than the 470Ti to compete (like the last gen AMD 6800XT had more mem, 16gb over the 3070Ti 12gb but the smart people bought the 3070ti often at a premium with mining and all.) The 1470ti is a $1300 card at the moment so the price of the 7900XT will fall like a rock between now at the end of march for the $1000AUD where it will find buyers and the price gap between the XT and XTX will make sense.
