Samsung 49" Odyssey Neo G9 Curved QLED DQHD Gaming Monitor $2299 Delivered @ Samsung Store

460

Deal is back again

I managed to get Harvey Norman to price match. Luckily they messed up because on the phone they told me they can price match but technically they shouldn't have said that since this price is below cost price for them so I managed to make Harvey lose money in the process. Try your luck.

  • How do you know what cost price is?
(It's $2184 on the Optus Samsung store too for those people that have friends who work for Optus)

said that since this price is below cost price for them

    That old chestnut hey

    • reminds me of myer's competitive price policy (aka not so competitive)

      • yeah (profanity) their purchasing department.

    • +6

Yeah was quite skeptical. If this is below cost price for them then they better get on samsungs website and stock up since its cheaper sourcing.

    • +5

It means "it's below my preferred profit margin".

    • I swear there’s an old south park episode which reminds me of this.

  • +2

Below cost price aye? GossipGoat, stop gossiping and go play Goat Simulator 🐐. Baa.

  • +2

Don't worry, Harvey made some coin on you

  • +7

I can almost guarantee you that this is not below their cost price.

  • +6

    Lol "cost price"

  • +9

Can’t believe they still get away with this “below cost price” tactics..

    • +8

Works on OP every single time

  • +6

Sometimes the “cost price” employees see at big stores is already adjusted to include overheads. Not all employees are aware this isn’t the real cost price.

    • +1

I’m pretty sure that’s how it works at JB (speculation) and it’s really more of a floor price.

I'm waiting for the OLED G9, launching soon :)

    • +2

      2 X the price

    • Me too. Hopefully it’s worth the wait. Also been holding off an 4090 till then.

      • +1

Me too - I'm holding off getting 10 RTX 4090's

is the wwwwwwwwwwqhd fad coming to an end yet?

How many monitor deals do you need to post your hate with this stupid term towards Ultrawide? Even when they aren't discussing UW monitors?

You don't like them? Don't buy them.

      • -8

I hope not many more tbh getting tired

      • +6

        He’s a 4x3 CRT purist

  • what should I say when a sale person says "it's below cost"?
Is the price matching program only voluntary?

    • +1

"Point to where you mention 'below cost price' in list of price guarantee exclusions you detail on the website"

That might stump them, or you'll likely need to start haggling over their little copout line of:

Products with pricing set significantly lower than the recommended retail price or market value.

Which one could reasonably argue doesn't apply since it's the manufacturer giving the discount, which would establish the market price…

Probably a waste of time though, they're only interested in a sale if it involves screwing the customer over. Spend your money elsewhere or save it to buy party supplies for Gerry's funeral.

  • what card would be realistically required to even run this?

    • I have a 3090ti and can run most things at 60hz minimum

      • +1

        That'd be awesome…..if it were 2003.

        • +4

It definitely runs things much higher but I’m not going to write a list and I’m also not going to oversell it

    • Onboard graphics will run this.

      • i'm obviously talking about utilising it to its potential, not running firefox and the desktop

    • In desktop, anything. In games, 3070 onwards.

  • No way I can assemble it alone

    • Managed to do it myself this morning. A lot easier than I was expecting.

  • You made Harvey Norman lose money… but at what cost

  • $1,599 on MWAVE and Scorptec

    • +3

Thats the G9 not the G9 Neo.

  • +1

Might as well wait for the OLED version this year if you’re gonna spend this much

    • While I agree with you, the OLED version is definitely going to be more expensive and on launch you are rolling the dice with Samsungs Q&A unfortunately.

      • I have a hunch it'll be even more expensive than the ARC that came out recently

        • Cant imagine how much more expensive the 57" will be

          • @kehuehue: The 57" will also need a GPU with DP2.1, which would rule out all nVidia GPUs to date. DP1.4a with DSC does not support the 7680x2160 at 240Hz the DUHD Neo G9 will be

        • The Arc has some dumb af design choices…it lacks a DP input for example

  • +4

How cute. You think you beat HN 🤭

  • I want the Neo G8 but I don't think that has ever gone on sale

    • $1699 for Samsung EPP

      • shocking but I might not be working for Samsung.

        • EPP is across all state and federal gov employees, anyone working for a school programs uni, all TAFE and uni students, and many other orgs…you can also potentially check JB Hifi Commercial and TGG Commercial if you join REST Super

  • Almost bought this.

  • Surely one is better off getting a good 4k TV and a GFX card instead of this?

    • depends though no 4K LED TV comes close to OLED experience and OLED TVs aren't cheap either.

  • I managed to make Harvey lose money in the process.

Lolll 🤣🤣 did you believe it? Especially in Harvey Norman?

  • Fantastic monitor , best I have ever used , the perfect monitor for my sim racing rig , worth it just for curve , highly recommended but I got a factory refurbished one for $2000 and it has no issues and works perfectly.
