Seems to be great price. I remember during Black Friday the same model sold by Amazon AU was like $105?

I suspect the only difference between this (sold by Amazon US) and the one sold by Amazon AU is the plug. Also this might take a bit longer to arrive as it says international delivery.

But the one sold by Amazon AU is $170 now so $90 could still be of good value if you don’t mind the plug & delivery time.

Is there a particular product you were referring to?

    • Yes, was about 96 recently from memory.
It works with plain water, dont use mouthwash in it

I have a water flosser from Aliexpress which was $30 and essentially looks the same… is there any difference? Also my dentist says that these things are a gimmick too 🥺

9 out of 10 dentists recommend so your dentist must be the other one

Sorry I’m no expert but my dentist recommended this model to me… 🤔You pay a premium for the brands too probably.

Dentists are essentially half clinical half commercial. This is why they get brand specific. I have the renpho one..has lasted longer than my past waterpik and works just as well.

My dentist, also, said these aren’t very effective. I think they are OK for loose detritus but if you have something wedged in you need something like floss.

    • Any recommedation in Aliexpress? Thanks

    • I donno about your dentists but I would say water flossing is more effective than normal flossing based on my experience

I had this model but I felt like it was too weak compared to a random one $50 one I got from Amazon

Water flossers are good for gums, but these do not replace flossing your teeth.

This has a built in battery and comes with a US plug, beware.

  • anyone care to comment about the power/pressure of this? i have the classic corded version with the separate water tank, but the build quality on those were dicey, and the button on the handle always got stuck.

I've had a couple of the corded Waterpik's (they improved the hose connection on the latter one), but recently got this one when on special for $75 which seems just as good as the full version.

Don't forget to still floss with string - these do a good job at dislodging food, but don't do anything for "scraping".

One of the two jobs of flossing is scraping the plaque off the sides of the teeth (where they touch one another) where the brush can't reach.

I personally use string floss + Piksters, on dentist's instruction. These are often considered gimmicky and short-lived.

I hate flossing so this is a good middle ground between not doing it and doing something

      • +1

Sure, in the sense that doing half a job is better than not doing it at all. I would encourage you to try doing the job though.

Have you tried using those perpendicular floss sticks? Some people prefer those as they're much quicker than with string.

        • So much more wasteful though

  • Does anyone know how gentle the 'low' mode is on these? Primary use case for me would be flushing my crypts of any hidden tonsil stones, but the cheap/knock-off version I currently have of this is powerful enough to cause bleeding.
