Samsung's latest high performance NVMe drive at a great price, lowest ever according to the camels.

Good price, though I'd be hesitant with the issue these have right now. Hopefully a simple firmware update solves it (supposedly by the end of the month.) https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/samsung-990-pro-users-repo…

    • Also, purchasing a Samsung SSD without warranty at the moment is a very bad idea. My 980 Pro fullfilled by Amazon US failed recently, and Samsung have refused to honour the RMA.

As in you tried to send it to Samsung au and they refused or what happened? I reckon lots of people would be in the same boat given how many Amazon US deals you see

I sent photos of the drive including serial, copy of receipt (clearly saying fullfilled by amazon us), screenshots of Samsung Magician showing the issue. RMA was approved so they sent me the postage bag. I sent it in and they tested it confirming it failed, and to wait for shipping details of the replacement drive. Then a day later i received an email saying warranty won't apply due to it being imported from the usa, and they will send back my original drive. I tried to reason with them due to it being a failure due to a widespread manufacturing issue that is currently in the media, but they won't budge

        • That's my next step. Im not sure the actual amazon warranty terms though, i couldn't find solid info

@Magicmannn: I will give it a shot, @its mentioned they had some luck following up warranty with Amazon. Thanks

@DanielP2 I had the same issue.. Samsung refused it.. but I got Amazon to do a refund via chat… was bought 1.5 years go.. maybe you can try that..

        • That's good news, i will try that when i get home. Thanks for the info.

I got one, health still 100% so far… hopefully all good.

  • Just checked mine in Crystal DiskMark and it is down to 99% health after about a month. Very disappointing.
