Reliable courier service for small parcels

Hi, I'm looking for a courier service mainly for <1KG parcels that has online tracking. Probably 100 or less parcels per week at this stage

I've had a look at eparcel but some reviews say it can be more expense than normal post.

  • definitely not recommend fastway. expensive and NOT reliable. pathetic customer service + rude staff!

My housemate shipped a RING from Melbourne to Sydney using fastway, paid for PRIORITY service (overnight service - coz she sent it on a Friday). The RING (thanks god) got delivered after 15 days.

    No apology from them.
    Customer Service was rude.
Got threatened (CS staff said this on the phone while she was making a complaint, "So, do you want it to be delivered or not?")
Requested for a refund. She paid 80$, and they offered 3$ back.

    Hi Orgazmo,

Have you heard of ShippingEasy? We partner with couriers and negotiate discounts with them to pass onto you. Our domestic courier partners include Fastway, Direct and Mail Call (with more coming soon) so you can choose from a range of services and prices depending on what you/your customers need.

You can get a quote immediately on www.shippingeasy.com. All you need are the 'from' and 'to' postcodes, and the parcel dimensions. All prices include tracking for both you and your customers.

Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to help.

    Cheers,
    ShippingEasy

  • Had an Australian Post guy emailing me this morning (generic OzBargain contact email address) to discuss options to distribute small parcels. Have absolutely no idea what he was talking about, until I found this thread just then…

  • Australia Post is good for infrequent parcels, and they subsidise shipping to remote places by charging a little more for urban deliveries.

most courier services will offer you an account, with which you can get much better rates. it's not easy to choose though, as their normal coverage area varies wildly from one company to the next, so you have to have a very good idea of typical destinations before you go shopping for a deal.

for myself, I have found my local (to home and work) Pack&Send franchise stores to be good value, but again it depends where you are shipping to and how often, whether you need pickup or not, how frequently you make shipments, do you need same day / next day service, and so on.
