Looking for a Cheap Casual/PAYG eSIM Plan with International Roaming

Hey, I am going to work overseas for a year. I am looking for a cheap plan that can be used overseas. I do not need any calls or internet service, all I need is to receive SMS codes for verification.

My dual sim phone only has one physical card slot, so I hope this mobile provider can support eSIM.

Is there any long-term casual/PAYG plan with international roaming and eSIM service?

Thanks.

  • with International Romaing

    This ?

  • Amaysim has International Roaming and cost 10$ per year on the pay as you go plan and have esim.

    • great, thank you!

      • I just bought the 30gb sim for $10 with $7 cashback and changed the plan to PAYG. Frugals gotta frugal.

  • You should be able to receive SMS oversea without activating international roaming.

  • until Aldi add esim, amaysim would be the best

or maybe telstra, or boost if they did esim. because amaysim doesnt do voWifi, which I've just learned telstra and boost do.
which, if im not mistaken, means that your local aus number would continue to work overseas without roaming, as long as you have data, including piggybacking off a local sim

    • Just confirmed with Telstra, you need to buy a 10$ day pass to receive sms overseas.

      • hmm, there is a pretty long thread on whirlpool which makes it sound like that shouldnt be necessary?

        • The staff lied to me, now I am overseas and can quickly receive SMS without any extra package.

@asuka1204: Same, I can confirm this too. It works fine.

Plus you can make Australian mobile calls over wifi. I can call people from my Australian number.
Needs to be wifi though, internet from second sim doesn't seem to enable thisn
