When a team comes out and says they aren't happy with the car in it's current form before it's even been on a track, probably not a great sign.
Zak Brown great marketer but team performance hasn't backed it up……for the last 5 years they have been saying give us 2-3 years for title challenging car and still nothing
With all the fuss over him and contracts, he better end up equal or better over the season compared to Lando :)
I think he will struggle in the McLaren.
Both Norris and Ricciardo are awesome drivers and they struggled with McLaren's car. Theres a lot of pressure on Oscar to do well as there was with Daniel and we know how that went.
Ask this question again after the first race of the season. McLaren is not a leading team. But Lando Norris is good. See how Piastri goes against him on the track at getting the best out of what will probably be a mediocre car.

Not expecting him to beat Norris in his rookie year, but 2024 should be a very interesting season for him.
Very few do well in their rookie season. Hamilton is the only one that I'm aware of. If Piastri can get close to Norris in the second half of the season and not crash much it will be a good pass mark.
I personally think Mclaren will do really poor this season. But we will see.
