  • Interactive Brokers.

I've also read about many people using IBKR for international transfers due to their competitive forex rates.

    • Thanks. Is this who you reccomend?

  • If you just want basic index ETFs you can buy them for US (eg. ASX:VTS) and UK (eg. ASX:F100) markets on the ASX using Stake or whatever broker you normally use.

    • Was looking into that but id like the option of buying individual stocks.
Im new to all of this but maybe im looking into it a bit too much.

  • FWIW sometimes insisting that a broker or solution covers all needs, results in an inferior solution than going with several specialist solutions e.g Use Stake for AU and US - go with UK broker for them.

FWIW I use Stake and find them excellent for what I need - which is relatively simple long term buy and holds. But your needs are likely very different. Used to use IB, they're great - can't go wrong with them either.

    • Im thinking of going with Stake for AU and US stocks and find one for UK.
Would be nice to have a good one that does all though.

  • It’s ok to invest in Au and Uk stock market, but never ever put a penny in the us fraud market, it’s all fraud, and stealing, so corrupt and the authorities are looking the other way. If you intended to invest in the us fraud market, I suggest you to dig a hole and put your money there. Good luck.

    • All the big markets are as bad as each other - which is to say they're either all 100% legit (which is naive) or 100% dodgy (which is equally as naive).

@T-man , so as you're recommending this to the OP - am I to take it that you've ensured that your super etc have zero/0% direct exposure to the US marketplace? And you're definite about that being the case?

As if so I if nothing else admire the certainty of your position to voluntarily exclude yourself from the top performing index from the last 30yrs+.
