Cashback on Flight Bookings via Expedia

Return Flights from TAS to India in Dec-Jan are around $1.8-2k pp (for the dates I'm looking at, unfortunately I cannot move them). I'm looking at maximising any discounts through booking via OTA's such as Expedia. Currently, it's offering 0.8-1% cashback thrrough Cashrewards/Shopback.

Any idea if it has offered an upsized cashback previously or may offer one soon? I'm looking at booking these flights soon as I'm worried tickets might get even further expensive (assuming inflated post-covid rates and peak season travel). Are there any known promo codes?

Or should I wait it out till April-May to see if prices drop further? Any other tips would be really handy.

        • Thank you so much. This trip has slightly more stopovers than I want but I'll search more like you've done.

  • +1

Are you sure you want to book through an OTA? Really sure?

For me, there are only two reasons to book through an OTA: they offer a routing an airline doesn't or they offer a big discount (and you know where the discount's coming from).

  • Unless the discount is significant enough to justify the risk, it's much safer to book directly with the airlines. When things go south, you'd wish you hadn't booked with an OTA (which is especially true since COVID).
